What I Loved Wearing This Week: May 8, 2026.

By: Jen Shoop

A few repeat questions I’ve been fielding lately: 1) Nail color: I am wearing Essie Geranium in most of these pics! It’s a great orange-red. I also love Big Apple Red for a true red moment. I try to avoid gel polish unless I really need it (say, for vacation or I have a ton of events/appointments) as it really does a number on my nails. 2) Pinky ring — my mom gave me her signet ring (with her monogram engraved on it!) before I set out for my book tour. I absolutely adore it. You can find a similar one at a reasonable price here. If you like the signet look but aren’t into the pinky ring, try this or this! I’m definitely in a pinky ring phase of life; I also wore this butterfly ring the jeweler Eriness gifted me throughout my book tour events, and I’m loving the new collection Dorsey just released. I’m obsessed with this style! Speaking of Dorsey, they’ve released so many great new pieces recently, especially their enamel collection! I am eyeing either the beurre or bleuet options. 3) Bangs! I get so many questions about them! I still love them. They feel so me. They are also a complete pain to style — I basically wash them daily (usually just pin back my hair and use a little dab of shampoo and wash in the sink). But, regrettably, worth it. If you’re on the fence — do it! Hair grows back. And what would your 70-year-old self say? A few products I find really helpful for styling my hair the way I like it right now: this shampoo (gives you really glossy, straight locks), this hair bonding treatment (so good for color-treated hair, and I notice an immediate difference after each use — I use every time I shower), this glossy blow-dry spray (weightless and gives you that shiny glass hair look), and this overnight repair serum, which I blend into my hair the night before I know I’m going to work out. It leaves your hair SO SOFT. On the tools front: I am currently obsessing over my new LBB brush (15% off right now)! It gives you fabulous soft volume every morning and night! French girl hair.

I am in the opposite bangs era – I’ve had them since I was a teenager, but post-partum hair loss x2 really did a number on them and I finally decided to grow them out. It’s been so strange and I miss them! but it hasn’t been as bad as I expected. The best part is NOT needing to do any styling, ha.
