A Magpie reader once wrote to say that people dress like they outfit their homes. I took the photo of me wearing my beloved whipped track pants in my living room this weekend and thought: “she was right.” I blended right in – lol. I guess our aesthetics apply to everything we touch!
I was wearing THE divinely soft whipped track pants, which I implore you to test for this upcoming winter season. They are mildly sheer / a little sexy so do with that information what you wish. I size up in the pants (take a small instead of an XS) but take my true size in the top. It’s like being draped in the softest, plushest material ever, but looking like a saucy goddess at the same time! Sorcery! The pants do run really long on me, but I don’t mind a little puddling for couch hanging and generally hygge!

+My A. Soliani boat shoe mules. This is such a fabulous, under-the-radar footwear brand, and I think the quality far outstrips the price. No, they aren’t cheap, but I think the quality is on par with prestige designers you’d pay upwards of $700 for. I also love the mule. +The Eileen button-down!!! Geez I love this one; great, boxy fit but somehow doesn’t swallow you whole. I may be entering my Ina Garten era, wearing white button-downs with everything. Wore several times this week. Try code CHEERS.
+Got this Marine Layer henley sweatshirt in and already know it’s going to be worn heavily this season. The fit is great and I love the cheery cardinal red stripe against that heathered oat color! Just great design all around. So cozy.
+Finally, had cause to break out my first fall coat this week on my way to a school parent meeting and was delighted that a very chic mom was wearing the same one in navy! Twinning! The silhouette on this coat is eliteeee. Has a cool, swingy shape and who can resist a cheerful red?! Be one bright color, Magpies!

Saturday Morning.
The dreamiest rainy morning reading Emma M. Lion in bed. Just looking at my waffle bed blanket (heads up that its on sale in select colors, and really good ones — a great blue, a dreamy butter yellow) is mouth-watering. I love the bed blanket in all seasons but especially fall. The perfect weight.

Moderating a Book Panel!
I wrote about this earlier this week, but it was fun and interesting to try something new. I loved my dress for the occasion! One secret to doing anything in public: wear something that makes you feel powerful, comfortable, polished. Never something that you have to adjust or fidget with. A dress like this is my go-to. Thoughts on the tuckernuck crewneck sweatshirt vs the madewell one?
Hi! The Tuckernuck is oversized, slouchy, casual. Feels very much like something you borrowed from an old high school boyfriend and never gave back. Thinner, not plush. This is truly something for over PJs or athletic wear IMO. The Madewell feels more tailored, more snug — would wear with jeans and utility pants during the week! xx
