A round up of the bestsellers for the entire 2023 year, excluding Amazon, which I’ll share separately. I found this list deeply compelling — I need to finally give that CE Ferulic acid a try! I love Vitamin C products but had heard it smells strange (plus, $$$). Still, so interesting that so many of you love it! I own 75% of the rest of the items on the list and adore them, too. The bra is a no-brainer — you need it in your rotation — BUT bear in mind that many Magpies have written to say that the one from Target’s diffusion line with the same brand is basically identical and less than 1/2 the price. If you’re on the less-endowed side of the spectrum, I know you will love these bralettes as much as I do. Obsessed. Butter soft and delightful.

01. J. CREW GISELLE CARDIGAN // 02. J. CREW METALLIC CARDIGAN // 03. TRUE & CO BRA // 04. BLONDO WATERPROOF TALL BOOTS // 05. SKINCEUTICALS C E FERULIC // 06. STEVE MADDEN DAD SANDALS // 07. TUCKER DINING CHAIR // 08. BOLL & BRANCH WAFFLE BED BLANKET // 09. CITIZENS CHARLOTTE CROPS (GREAT EVERYDAY WASH) // 10. GAP KICK FITS // 11. SLIP SILK HAIR TIES // 12. MADEWELL GRETA FLAT // 13. 1. I am a longtime Vitamin C devotee but only recently decided to pony up the $$ for the C E Ferulic on the advice of my dermatologist that it truly is the best and I can say that she was right! The glow is unmatched, and my sister/harshest critic commented unprompted that my skin has never looked better. The scent is definitely giving lunch meat (someone on TikTok called it “hot dog water” and now I can’t unhear it!) but it only lasts for a few minutes.

  2. I have been taking mental notes all week of the “MVPs of 2023!” I need to write them down to remember. A few of note:

    – Dyson Airwrap. Completely changed my hair game. I feel so much more polished when I have my hair done, and this has made it doable and enjoyable.

    – Bioessence Vit C serum! On your rec!

    – Libby app for free e-books and audiobooks from the library. SUCH a game changer once you get into the rhythm of placing holds, etc.

    – Caro Chambers What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking Substack subscription. This has changed my family dinner game. Such approachable and delicious recipes that my kids (mostly) eat.

    – Owala water bottle. Love.

…that was fun! Thank you for your writing, it’s a joy to read every morning with my coffee.

    Merry merry Christmas!

    1. Ooo love these SO much and especially glad you’re liking the vitamin c on my rec!!

Thanks for sharing. I need an Owala!

      xx

    2. co-sign the air wrap and all-library-everything. i *never* would have bought myself the air wrap/thought it would work on my fine, pin-straight hair (never holds a hot roller curl or curling iron curl for more than 10 mins) but something about this system gives me the bounciest curls for days. i use the smaller barrel for more classic curls, larger one for a bouncy blow-out vibe, round brush for polished hair with slightly flippy ends. my husband surprised me with it (still baffled he knew what it was?) for a birthday several years ago and it’s hands down my favorite self-care / luxurious-getting-ready tool!

  3. I really love your shopping links and own several pieces on your recommendation, but I return to this site everyday for the writing. The writing is my favorite thing. You capture the mundane and the magic better than most and it is such a privilege to have your words rolling around in my head all day. Thanks for sharing with me and with all of us.

    1. I could not have articulated these sentiments better. This corner of the internet is pure gold and Jen, you have such a gift. Thanks for sharing

      1. Gosh – thank you so much, Jane! I’m so touched and so happy you’re a part of this corner! Happy holidays!!

        xx
