Neutral Foundational Pieces for a Chic Summer Wardrobe.

By: Jen Shoop

I’m typically a color girl, but every now and then, I dip my toe in the Jenni-Kane-Gwyneth-Paltrow side of the spectrum. These girls are making a strong case for the aesthetic…

I’m especially loving the look of tying the bandana scarf / scarf around the waist. I saw this on a runway (maybe Chanel?) this season and love the look. Will be recreating with this. So good with white pants and a white tank! The other detail I’m loving is a chunky knit with airy shorts! It’s inspiring me to pair my Gwyn sweater (seen at top – on sale, plus extra 15% off with code SHOOP15) with shorts like these.

LEFT: SCARF // TEE // PANTS // TOTE // FLIP FLOPS (ABSURDLY $$ BUT ALL OVER STREET STYLE GIRLIES!)

RIGHT: SWEATER // SHORTS // SUEDE FLIP FLOPS (UNDER $100) // HAIR CLIP

Even more great foundational finds below…

Hi Jen, Regaridng the men’s Cliquet Terry polos you featured recently, how does Mr. Magpie find the sizing? I want to purchase one for my husband for Father’s Day and tossed on which size to get. By the way the reviews for the shirt on their website are golden! I love the one reviewer’s description of the shirt upgrading him to looking like a guy who owns a boat, ha!
