A couple of new year’s finds and old favorites from Quince, which has become a go-to destination for wardrobe staples and basics. First up:
Quince Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck.
I have been getting so much wear out of this mongolian cashmere sweater from two seasons ago. Truly one of my favorite neutral sweaters, and under $100. I own it in two colors (I ordered the sand color myself and my mom gifted me the chocolate brown for Christmas last year!) and I find it so compelling to reach for and easy to style. It has that minimalist Scandi-cool vibe paired with ecru jeans, a white tee, a chic boot, and a bag in a cool/modern/minimalist shape.* I always get a lot of compliments on it, too. And it’s $99! I go up a size in this for a slightly slouchier, Jenni-Kayne-inspired vibe. (I take a small instead of an XS.) BTW, I’m wearing my usual jewelry stack below, but wanted to specifically mention that my Dorsey drop earrings have been restocked! These are a weekday (and weeknight…and weekend…) staple for me. Under $200 and you’ll get so much mileage out of them. They feel right with everything — they have an effortless quality to them that just works. Silky top and heels? Yep. Chunky sweater and jeans? Yep, too.

**Final note before I get back to Quince: this is the sweetest gift (also seen below). Bookmark this for mother’s day, or just as a treat for yourself. You can have it engraved with anything — your name in your grandmother’s handwriting; your father’s blocky all-caps; a little sketch; etc. I chose to have my son’s firstling attempts at writing my name engraved on it. (I also have the hard copy on my desk — a little reminder of those shaky first tries at anything; how beautiful they are!)

The Quince Heritage Lamp.
Another favorite from Quince: these lamps. I ordered two to replace the chinoiserie ones I had on either end of our bedroom dresser, and I absolutely love the oversized, coastal-chic, Nancy-Meyers-set vibes. It’s such a small thing but the change these have made in the feel of our bedroom can’t be overstated. (Side bar: are you watching “The Girlfriend” TV series? Landon drew up a list of some of the nominated television shows for this year, and this was on it, and immediately grabbed our interest. It’s sort of imbalanced IMO: you have a heavy-hitting performance by Robin Wright Penn against some really goofy scenes set to jarring music that feel plucked right out of a Gossip Girl revenge montage? I don’t know. I’m only a few episodes in so maybe I’ll change my tune but it’s enjoyable enough to keep us watching for now. Anyway. I love (!) the interior design in RWP’s character’s home. Absolutely stunning. These Quince lamps belong in it!)
More New Year Favorites + Finds from Quince.
A few other new arrivals and favorites over at Quince to contemplate:
CASHMERE FRAYED-EDGE SCARF (GORGEOUS IN THAT ICE BLUE; SORT OF ALICE WALK-LITE)
THIS BRUSHED CASHMERE CARDIGAN (!!!)
A PRETTY AND AFFORDABLE SKY BLUE RUG
OUR FAVORITE STRUCTURED CARDIGAN IN NEW COLORS
THIS LA COQUETA-CODED GIRLS’ JACKET
*Speaking of bags in cool/modern/minimalist shapes: have you heard of the brand Vestirsi? I am loving this Toteme-inspired shape (very T-lock-like, but less than half the price; they also have a chic mini size). I’m drooling! The other street-style-cool bag I’ve been eyeing is this Freja Chrystie. I’ve side-eyed this shape for a long time; I’m not sure why — it maybe feels too gen-z for this old timer?! — but then I saw it on Megan Stokes and reconsidered. She has a way of making even trendy things feel timeless and polished. Eeek I am just in bag-dreaming heaven. I know I just shared a roundup of great bags on sale and am trying to hold off for the Savette but…!
Finally, a propos of nothing, I just ordered these $128 leopard print barrel leg silky pants. Don’t they look like a dream? I wrote late last year about some of the “weird things in my 40s,” and one of them is wanting to wear pants that barely touch my body. These fit the bill nicely. They don’t ship until mid-Feb in the petite inseam but I’m willing to wait. Don’t you love that Anthro consistently offers petite inseams?! My other favorite pick in this vein: my Ruti pants, which I just continue to love more and more. They also come in a petite inseam! More great finds for petites here.
P.S. That time my husband handed me an envelope containing the world.
P.P.S. 3 a.m. parties. (Not what you think.)
P.P.P.S. If you’re a tired mama, you’re not alone.

First – I love quince cashmere also! my mom got the girls the zip up this year, and the guys the quarter zip. Such a great, easy gift. Second – thank you for linking that necklace! A few years ago I framed “love, Dad” in my dad’s handwriting for my brothers but not myself. Love the idea of wearing his handwriting every day!
Oh my goodness! That Chrystie Bag is REALLY pretty. Love so many things about it. Especially that it looks like a bag that has a special lasting beauty. No gold buckles or anything to “date” its look. May have to order this myself
Isn’t it fabulous?!
