Magpie x Riley Sheehey Motherhood Prints!

By: Jen Shoop

Good morning! Eek! I am beyond thrilled to announce the release of a set of motherhood prints I designed with my friend and talented artist Riley Sheehey, now available for purchase here! These prints, designed to resemble Delft titles, draw out the richness of the motherhood experience, the beauty of a day filled with small things, and the fact that we are constantly rewriting ourselves as parents. They feature adaptations of some my musings on motherhood alongside Riley’s whimsical and evocative artwork.

I framed this one for my son’s room.

I framed this one for my studio — these are things I need to tell myself all the time!

The frame is from here!

A special reminder — I am giving this one as a gift to a mom friend who shares my motherhood ethos; we often help one another come back to center. Deep breath!

This collaboration was years in the making; Riley and I crossed paths online (and I promptly became an enormous fan of her work!) and then met in person when I moved back to the DC area four years ago. I have treasured getting to know Riley — she is not only a tremendous artistic talent but an open-minded and hard-working businesswoman and a delight to be around. Riley is down-to-earth, thoughtful, supportive of other women; she is the real deal, a true lamp lighter! Working on this project was an absolute dream and honor, especially since Riley is a busy and in-demand entrepreneur with her own book (I buy these gorgeous giftable books in bulk and keep in my gift closet — a perfect little surprise for a mom friend, mom-to-be, hostess, etc!) and a recently-launched collection with Pottery Barn Kids (this spectacular dollhouse is the piece de resistance, and she told me it was her favorite piece to design, but I ordered her ornament set and these sheets for my daughter!)

We hope you love these prints as much as we do!!

*If you’re local to DC/Bethesda, I find it SO easy to select the option where you drop off the artwork at the Bethesda Framebridge store. I’m always in that area and it feels simple to just physically drop it off, and then they ship it back to your home when it’s framed!

P.S. You might recall I also did a (now-sold-out) collaboration with Inslee earlier this year! You must buy her desk calendar for 2026. It’s the best gift for you and all the mother figures in your life — this is one of my favorite MIL gifts.

P.P.S. Notes to self on motherhood — the piece that started it all!

P.P.P.S. Strive to be the lowest heart rate in the room.
