+WE ALL KNOW CHANGE IS HAPPENING: A propos of some of my thoughts yesterday, love this poem as a reflection on accepting change with confidence and faith. (Found here originally.)

+ON MAKING DENTIST’S APPOINTMENTS: Several of you responded to my post on things that are harder than they look (“snowdrop things”) by mentioning “making appointments”! I had to share this funny video on that theme — if for nothing else to know you’re not alone; this is a known phenomenon!
+DESSERT INSPO: I want to make this easy-but-fancy-looking dessert Cheesegal shared: Sherry Ice Cream with Biscoff Cookies and Amarena Cherries. I love a simple but high-impact dessert like this — and especially like that you can buy all the ingredients so that you always have them on hand. This reminded me that for awhile, we loved to serve sorbet with champagne poured over the top in a coupe for dessert. Simple, chic, delicious, and almost zero-effort. Going to bring that back around. Related: easy but elegant happy hour snacks.
+STREET STYLE INSPO: A couple of outfits I’ve pinned lately…

IMAGE UN // IMAGE DEUX // IMAGE TROIS // IMAGE QUATRE
LOOK 1: Sprezzatura fashion! “Oh I just threw this on” energy, but clearly not — this is careful styling! I love the contrast of texture and “vibe.” Those linen pants with the ruffle hem! I think they’re Sleeper from a few years ago — see here and here.
LOOK 2: These exaggerated collars were big a few years ago, and SEA was at the helm of the trend-setting in this vein, but I find myself drawn to the vibe again. I especially love the look of the trench, or khaki pants (utilitarian) with an unexpectedly frilly collar. Friction encore! I’ve been wearing a past-season version of this coat that last two weeks as a result. Also fun and in this vein: this, this, this.
LOOK 3: The Donni pants continue to hit! Love the styling with the oversized slouchy cotton knit and Freda flats! More on styling these “it girl” pants here, and a look for a little less here.
LOOK 4: Again with the exaggerated collars! Feeling this so much right now. Just a taste of whimsy! Similar here (under $100), here, here. This tie-collar shirt from J. Crew’s spring collection is also very much in this vein but a little more unexpected.
+HEALTHY MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE FOR MY DMV MAGPIES: Wanted to spotlight Clean Life Collective, a local meal delivery services focused on whole foods. I met the founder, Katelin, an integrative health coach, at a social event last fall and found her so inspiring, poised, and kind. I’ve dog-eared this service for weeks Landon might be traveling or maybe as a gift for parents welcoming a newborn or friends going through tough times and needing a little extra TLC. Several of my friends have ordered CLC and said it’s absolutely delicious — specifically the meatballs. Katelin is also a helpful follow on Instagram — I flagged this post on meals her kids love for inspiration.
+EYEING + BUYING:
+More D.C. love! I discovered these clever cards designed by a D.C. based entrepreneur for parents to use with their children when they’re running low on inspiration/energy (would have loved these during the pandemic…) — lots of different play/imagination prompts!
+I ordered this cropped mac coat this week, partly inspired by the photo above with the trench paired with white lacey/embellished trim. Perfect for pairing with this fab top from J. Crew’s new arrivals (my favorites from that drop here). GREAT look for less here, as seen on the ever-chic Nicole Cassidy here.
+A few other recent spring orders I’m loving: this dress from Tuckernuck (again with my hyper-fixation on collars!), this trendy cashmere bandana scarf (it’s sold out several times and finally snagged!), my new favorite spring shoe (OBSESSED; use code MAGPIE10 — I got in citron but I love the faded denim color too; one Magpie wrote and said she got the brown and has been wearing every single day since she received! Looks for less here and here), and a great pair of utility pants in a petite inseam! LOVE that so many denim brands have dedicated petite lines these days.
+On the beauty front: just restocked these fabulous under-eye patches (all my favorite brands here — I wear them almost daily) and this pre-shampoo treatment for stronger, shinier hair, as a part of my continuing quest for healthy, shiny, happy hair this year.
+Lastly: my glasses. Perfect for petite faces!
