Some happy summertime home upgrades I’m loving at the moment —

CHAIR // RUG // LAUNDRY HAMPER // VASES // BEDDING // CHANDELIER
01. Love a classic jute rug for summer — this runner is at a great price point. (Use code JEN15).
02. This ultra-soft comforter set (on sale!) — like sleeping in a broken-in tee. We have these on our bed right now.
03. Mahjong table — perfect to put in a covered porch! I just know there are Magpie mahj people who are hunting for this right now.
04. This stoneware vase is so chic.
05. Natural rattan dining chairs. Love the shape. They look like something you might have gotten at a French market.
06. I absolutely adore this pine wood armchair. The pattern is so gorgeous!
07. These aged brass gallery rails elevate any shelving.
08. Balboa rattan dresser with gold accents.
09. Display-worthy laundry hamper.
10. Fun block print tub chairs. Would be chic at a vanity.
11. These wicker side tables would be great around a pool or on a back patio. Love the silhouette!
12. I can’t stop thinking about these pendant lights.
13. Scalloped baskets — fantastic price, too.
14. Serena and Lily pendant with subtle rattan detailing. I’ve been wanting to replace our dining room chandelier since we moved in five years ago but it’s just continuously punted down the list of important expenditures…
15. Cotton jacquard floral bedding. Love the quilting. Would be so chic in a bunk room or summer cottage!
16. The colorway on this rug is everything! Fun for a teen’s room.
17. These organizational bins are chic, stackable, and sturdy.
18. These bed sheet organizers are a clever way to wrangle a messy linen closet.
19. This pillow is adjustable for side, back and stomach sleepers. A Magpie reader favorite!
20. Sweet floral dinner plates.
21. Ultra-chic French wine glasses.

Ooh these are great. We just moved, and while it is a massive upgrade, there is now a lot of extra space and some of the pieces we have also don’t fit well. I’m definitely trying to be conscious and buy really good furniture over time once we know what the space needs, but it’s hard to fight the urge to just buy everything now. Also dealing with the frustration of a new house, where so many of our existing storage organizers and bins don’t fit. It will all be worth it, but it is a lesson in patience.
OH I completely relate to this. We moved from an NYC apartment to a suburban home five years ago and are STILL outfitting it. It takes a long time. I keep telling myself that it’s worth the wait — to take my time to see how I use the spaces; to observe “paths of desire” (i.e., do kids always dump their stuff in one spot? are all the shoes piled up by a certain door? these areas will need solutions); wait for the right pieces; invest in things; find a good designer/contractor/whatever to help with whatever is beyond your paygrade. But everything.takes.so.long. and I’d say about once every 3-6 months, Landon or I throws a tiny temper tantrum about everything not being just DONE. Ha!
Anyway. Sorry to glom on here but just — it takes time! I feel you! At the beginning it can be almost debilitatingly overwhelming!
