We are officially entering sweater weather! It is a crisp 55 degrees outside right now; my children called out for sweatshirts as they trotted out the door for school. (Another micro-signal of the seasonal turn!) I could not wait to pull out my new tipped cashmere getaway sweater from Alice Walk. I can’t stop singing this brand’s praises. Everything they do is perfect. The feel, the fit, the details! It’s exactly what I want to wear. Cannot recommend these divinely plush cashmere henley sweaters more for this season. They are thin enough to layer beneath a blazer, jacket, or fleece without added bulk; they feel gorgeous directly on skin (cannot be said of all cashmere); and they give off the most luxe but laidback vibe. There is something about the design of their pieces that makes me think I am the kind of woman who wakes early to walk her dogs and observe the mist coming in over the water. They are story-telling sweaters!
A few other bits and bobs from my week in outfits:
+The pleated Meg Ryan pants came! I went up a size because I didn’t want them too tight and probably could have taken my true size in them — they’re a tad big in the waist. But no worry; I will still wear. I love that they barely touch the body. A lightweight chino — not too structured. Just thought of another outfit to wear with them: my favorite $70 cashmere sweatshirt (slim fit) layered over my favorite lightweight Buck Mason tee (with these pants, I find the top needs to have a trim/slim fit), and a Kujten scarf.
+Have I sufficiently raved about these gorgeous blouses from Rosewaterhouse?! They are exquisite. A thin, barely-there, lightweight, breathable material with an overlong length, so you can truly tuck them in without having to adjust all day long. I love the buttons and the piping detail at the collar. Just spectacular. Looks amazing with jeans but could be worn with a dressier skirt!
+Finally, must sing the praises of my favorite ballet flats! Now available in a couple great new fall suedes and captoes. I love the way these look on the foot. They have an elongated almond toebox that reveals just enough skin. I love them in the amaretto or chocolate suede for fall. Try code WELCOME10.

Long live the Ruti pant! I found another use case for them: at sports events! They are super comfortable, wrinkle and sort of rain-resistant (almost a performance material), and look a little more polished than leggings.
