It was a week of transitional temps! We had a 58 degree morning and then multiple 90 degree afternoons. Hey, I’ll take it! My favorite thing I wore this week was my La Ligne Mini Marin. It just made me so excited about the impending season, and it’s one of those pieces that is insanely comfortable and well-cut. I love the plush, thick wool-cashmere blend and the cool crop.
I was also delighted to find a full run of my favorite utility pants available in on-trend chocolate — probably my other favorite thing I wore this week! (I’ve been seeing a lot of chocolate/cornflower blue combos this season!). These run very TTS and I love that they don’t nip in or bother you anywhere. Very comfortable and look super cute on. I own these pants in several colors and they are one of my favorite workday wears. A nice loose fit and the barrel leg is flattering. Love the drawstring waist. Runs TTS. Currently wearing these in olive green!
Not pictured here, but I wore this sailboat cardigan all Labor Day weekend long, over striped sundresses, gingham shorts, eyelet maxis! I really did not do a good job capturing my LDW lineup — proof of a good time with family :). The fact that I feel like this goes with everything is making me contemplate the fall (bear) version…BTW, Tnuck has a good look for less for the one I have! Buy now for next summer!
THE Cadets Pants!
I mentioned this several times, but these are back in stock and shipping now! They’ve extended the sizes and added great new fall colors and patterns. These are such a great alt to leggings/sweats but feel just as comfortable. I love the way they look with a slightly boxy/loose-hemmed top, like this terry cardigan, or a rollneck sweater.

Back to School Event!
Had a couple of visits to the kids’ schools this week! I love a crisp stripe for fall (as evidenced by the photos above and below), and this dress is truly exceptional. Love the length (almost a maxi on me, but note that I am a shrimpy 5’0). I also wore this twice in London! The texture, the shirting stripe, the drama of it! It’s somehow, magically, 50% off right now.
The bag is a Fendi Peekaboo Petite, which was my gift to myself after publishing Small Wonders. It sparks joy every time I look at it. I found a fab version on TRR in a stunning ice blue color.

Writing Uniform.
Dressing for comfort, and also — dressing exactly as I would have in high school? Truly, this was my go-to formula on the rare occasion we had free dress at my heavily-uniformed all girl’s school: a white oxford and navy sweats, rolled down at the waist. I felt right at home in this some 30 years later. Some formulas just stick!
I was wearing Rhoback’s new and predictably great Aspire pants. I don’t always love a pintuck in a pair of leisure pants — I know they are everywhere, especially at Varley — but the pleat can do strange things to my petite frame and occasionally add volume where you want none. However, these are an exception. The pintuck flatters. And I love the on-trend track pant stripe down the side!

Dog Days at the Pool.
This was taken earlier than the terry cover-up photo above (sorry for the out of order chaos). Once I put this Hunza G on, I wondered why I ever wear any other swimwear brand. Divinely comfortable. Never cuts in anywhere. Makes you look amazing. Feels like you’re wearing nothing. AH. So good.
