Landon and I make a point of seeing live music at least a few times a year — maybe more than that, actually. In the next few months, we’re seeing Maren Morris, Tyler Childers, and Laufey (!!!!!), and I’m contemplating squeezing in another Wolf Trap performance, too. (Other acts on my “realistic” list: L’Imperatrice, Clairo, Megan Moroney, Thee Sacred Souls. I have a long list of “long shot” acts I’d like to see, too, but we tend to prefer smaller venues and more niche performers. I would absolutely LOVE to take in a concert at Red Rocks — major bucket list excursion for me. What’s on your list and radar?)
Anyhow, at least three Magpie readers have written in requesting concert-going outfits, so I thought I’d share the vibe I go for at most live music performances: a little boho, a little refined, and always a flat sole. In the photo above, I’m en route to see HRH Kacey Musgraves! I wore this Alix of Bohemia dress (absolutely spectacular hand embroidery), this Janessa Leone fedora, a cropped denim overshirt from La Ligne (no longer available, similar here), these earrings (which I’d honestly forgotten about til I saw this pic and now need to find — so good!), and my beloved Celine phone sling (a good workaround for all the tight concert bag size rules). I know I’ve rhapsodized about the Celine sling a lot but it really has shocked me with its utility, especially while traveling. Great for travel day (keep phone and ID on your person), great while traveling (Disney! situations where you’re running down to the hotel bar and just need your key card and phone! etc!), and just generally easy when you’re on the move. I found some good options on resale sites here and here. If out of budget, I absolutely love the look of this Rothy’s phone sling — under $100 and nails that rope/bungee microtrend we’ve been seeing everywhere.
If you need a slightly bigger bag for whatever reason and the venue requires something clear — this is the chicest option I’ve found (comes with necessary crossbody strap). I also love this $25 steal from Amazon, but not sure it’s THAT much bigger than a phone sling. Very cute though — Longchamp vibes! And this little Coach wonder would be fun with a colorful outfit!

If you do another request series I’d love recommendations for Las Vegas! I’ve never actually been, but I have a conference in the fall and will tackle on a couple days for fun with my husband. Probably just restaurants, spa and maybe a show or two. I have no idea what to wear – I’d love to find something glam but that I could wear again not in Vegas.
