What I Loved Wearing This Week: Oct. 3, 2025.

By: Jen Shoop

I took SO few pictures this week — I was visiting my sister and her wife in Boston and was mainly focused on them! I’m bummed because I did like my outfit for their cowboy-themed book club (which I dropped in on!); I wore this dress — the top-stitching is such a cute and unexpected way to channel Western style — with Isabel Marant boots (look for less here), this APC bag, and a bandana print wool bend shawl. I wish I’d snapped a photo; it felt perfect. And I was stopped twice in Boston by kind women asking about the outfit provenance!

Anyway, the scant few photos I did take this week…

Lobbying for Fall Weather (It Was 70 Degrees + I Had to Change).

TUCKERNUCK CASHMERE CARDIGAN // CITIZENS CHARLOTTE JEANS // SOLDOUT NYC TEE (CODE MAGPIE15) // DORSEY CLEMENCE NECKLACE // FREDA SALVADOR BOOTS

Parent Association Meeting.

FRAME LE SLEEK STRAIGHT CORDUROYS // BANDANA PRINT SCARF // A SOLIANI COMO FLATS // SKIMS TEE // ELECTRIC PICKS WEST HOOP EARRINGS // JANE WIN NECKLACE

Sunday Mass.

Doen’s Rhodia dress is so fabulous for this season — extremely lightweight cotton that is easy to layer beneath knits and jackets. This is a past-season print but their current season options are gorgeous, too.

DOEN RHODIA DRESS // LEE RADZIWILL BAG // G LABEL SLIM BELTED CARDIGAN (CODE SHOOP15 FOR 15% OFF) // JANE WIN NECKLACE // A SOLIANI COMO FLATS

Lunch Date with My Mom.

VERONICA BEARD DENIM BLAZER (OLD, SIMILAR HERE; LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // VELVET BY GRAHAM SPENCER BRYLIE BARREL PANTS (BEST UTILITY PANTS FOR PETITES – RUN TTS) // CHANEL BALLET FLATS (SIMILAR HERE, LOOK FOR LESS HERE AND HERE) // MAISON LECOMTE SCARF // GOYARD TOTE

Halfway to Mt. Helicon (Deep in a Writing Flow).

Coziest clothing for roundest writing — I’ve also been wearing this gingham fleece over my morning athletic wear!

ADDISON BAY GINGHAM FLEECE // VUORI HALO TEE // ELECTRIC AND ROSE TERRY CLOTH PANTS

Flying to Boston.

I truly love this carryall (XL size) — it has an interior pocket for a laptop as well as several other handy pockets and pouches — and it fits underneath a plane seat, so it counts as a personal item despite carrying a ton. I also love the little sleeve on the exterior that you can slip right over a roll-a-board handle. My suitcase is Paravel (RIP!!! I can’t believe that brand disappeared over night) but these new aluminum-edge suitcases from Away deliver a similar aesthetic. I also have to again plug the utility of this little Celine phone sling (more here). I bought this kind of on a lark a few years ago and it is one of my most-used bags. Perfect for travel, concerts, days out, etc. You can be hands free but keep your phone, ID, and credit card on your person at all times without lugging a huge bag. Great for Disney for this reason, too. Rothys has a great option for much less that I think is really fun / cute — under $100.

My other travel day must: layers! I am always cold on planes and like to wear a soft cotton tee, some sort of heavier sweater/knit/jacket (this week I wore this from Alex Mill!), and then a scarf or shawl just in case.

MOTHER HALF PIPE JEANS // DEHANCHE HOLLYHOCK BELT // ALEX MILL CARDIGAN BLAZER // A SOLIANI COMO FLATS // SOLDOUT NYC TEE (CODE MAGPIE15) // DAGNE DOVER LANDON CARRYALL // BANDANA PRINT SCARF // CELINE PHONE SLING (MORE HERE; LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // PARAVEL SUITCASE (SIMILAR HERE)

Return Flight to DCA.

Another outfit I loved with no photo evidence…

PISTOLA CUFFED JEANS // VERONICA BEARD BLAZER (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // J. CREW POINTELLE // A SOLIANI COMO FLATS // DAGNE DOVER LANDON CARRYALL // CELINE PHONE SLING (MORE HERE; LOOK FOR LESS HERE
