Treasure Trove.

By: Jen Shoop

Whew — sorry I was gone for a MINUTE there.  I had a ton going on — first, we got a puppy.  She is the sweetest Airedale Terrier baby…but she also has MAD energy and has a habit of getting into and chewing on everything.  So she’s required a ton of attention and love.  Her name is Tilden — “Tilly” for short.  I grew up on Tilden Street in NW DC, so it had a special place in my heart.  Tilden is also the last name of ALMOST an American president (he lost to Rutherford B. Hayes in 1876. #NERD)  Second, we traveled to NYC to compete in a startup pitch event for our new company.  So it’s been a crazy week and I missed you all.

While on the road (in airports and cabs), I found myself getting lost in Etsy.  SO many good finds!  Sharing a few of my top picks below…

If you’ve always coveted the Oscar de la Renta tassel earrings but have never quite been able to stomach the price, these tassels from St. Raine are pure magic.  They come in all different color/stone combos.  Here are a few favs:

+Black with druzy stone ($62);

+Teal with white druzy stone ($62);

+Pink labradorite ($62);

+Turquoise and coral ($75).

Kourtney Kardashian’s bedroom has a cool neon sign above the bed (see her whole wild pad here), and I’ve been intrigued by the idea of installing one of these somewhere in our home, perhaps in an otherwise uber feminine and classic office?  The Etsy boutique Marcus Conrad Poston has some epic options.  A few of my favs:

+J’Adore ($850);

+Love ($850);

+To the Moon and Back ($1300).

Mr. Magpie and I sprang for a classic plaid Orvis bed with Tilden’s name monogrammed on the side, but I’m also contemplating getting one of these punchy styles from Filly Dog for our basement.  Top picks:

+Blue and mint triangle ($99+);

+Pink and coral geometric ($99+);

+Red and pink triangle ($99+).

I love the idea of curtains, but this pillow may be an affordable way to get the look ($60+) — from Etsy storefront Spark Modern.  A few other favorites: Brunschwig + Fils Les Touches is classic and I love this Peter Dunham ikat.

I really want to dress up my walk-in closet.  Right now, I have a great rug (this one, to be exact), a fluffy white stool (get the look for less with this find), and some amazing artwork my sister made for me.  (She’s an incredible fashion illustrator.)  But I’ve wanted to wallpaper the ceiling to make it feel like a little jewel box — I’m thinking something like this, which would seriously feel like the lining of an expensive jewel box, or maybe just one of my current favorite wallpapers.  OMG, it’s gorgeous.  And then I want to install a chandelier or some sort of glam lighting.  I was attracted to the finds from Etsy shop Park Studio LA — how rad is the Adel ($565) or the Sonoma ($1300)?!

You know my obsession with good packaging and rosewater — this rose spray ($32) has my name all over it.  Avail yourself of the goodies from cool Etsy shop Herbivore Botanicals.  Also have my eye on the pink clay soap ($12) and this brightening mask ($48).
