An Ode to Sarah Creal’s Face Flex Concealer.

By: Jen Shoop

…and other great products for “mature” skin. In this post, all the beauty products I am loving as a 41-year-old with aging skin that runs on the dry side. At this life-stage, I’m after a natural, even, glow-forward look — nothing too bold or dramatic! I’ve gradually traded out what’s in my cosmetics bag for items that I find last on my skin, are not too-drying (most of these are moisturizing), and promise luminosity.

Sarah Creal’s Best-in-Class Concealer.

My first rec in this category is Sarah Creal’s wonderful second-skin “face flex” concealer I’ve written about dozens of times before. It is the perfect consistency — on the fluid side, easy to blend, but provides good coverage and somehow does not settle into fine lines. I like to apply it wherever I need it, then apply a few squiggles of the Victoria Beckham foundation drops right onto my face (plus a drop or two of the Westman Bronzing drops on cheeks and forehead) and then blend everything together, sort of like a paint canvas. It yields the best, most even, most glowy coverage! I specifically love this concealer because it lasts much longer than other brands I’ve tried over the years. They write on their site that it lasts up to 12 hours — I’m not sure about that, but it definitely stays put for a long time without looking cakey or dry.

All of My Favorite Beauty Products for Mature Skin.

Beauty products for mature skin

SARAH CREAL CONCEALER // RHODE GLAZING MILK // TARTE GLOW TAPE // CREAM BLUSH // RADIANCE SERUM // CREAM EYESHADOW // VICTORIA BECKHAM FOUNDATION DROPS // GLOW TRIO // SUN KISSED BRONZER // CONTOUR WAND

01. The star of this post.

02. Victoria Beckham foundation drops. These are, regrettably, worth it. I love the consistency and the flawless finish. Like your skin but better.

03. Perfect cream blush for the “no makeup glow.”

04. The Rhode Glazing Milk is the best primer. It’s hydrating but acts sort of like a velcro for makeup. I find it yields a great result when applying concealer/foundation after.

05. My go-to loose setting powder.

06. Sun-kissed glow bronzer. This always sells out. I wear shade 2.

07. Cream eyeshadow. I prefer anything I can apply with a finger!

08. Radiance serum with SPF 30.

09. Charlotte Tilbury contour wand.

10. Westman Atelier bronzing drops.

11. This is the holy grail of setting sprays!

12. Eyelid tint from Jillian Dempsey. Again — I like eye color I can apply with my finger.

13. Trish McEvoy hydrating lipstick. I’ve worn “gentle” for years. Great everyday color.

14. Glow trio from Westman.

15. Lash enhancing mascara. I am obsessed with this mascara, and I swear I’ve tried them all.

16. Tarte Glow Tape Highlighter.

17. Illuminating eye cream. Not cosmetics per se, but sort of bridges the gap between skincare and makeup — it is UNBELIEVABLE. The tint provides a tiny bit of coverage and color correction — plus glow! Ideal for dark circles.

18. Lip chic lipstick. A long time favorite in the bourbon rose color.

19. Eye brightener pencil. Just ordered this for inner corner of my eye, under brow, etc.

20. Plumping lip treatment.

21. Creamy lip liner. I wear this daily in the “desert rose” color. This product convinced me I needed to use a lip liner.

22. Rare Beauty blush. Hyper-pigmented — you barely need a dab, but it delivers such joyful color!

23. Eyelid primer.
