I write these 10 Pick posts quite a bit, but I gotta say, this one is extra juicy. Lots of affordable finds / ways to get Le Look for less and some unexpected treats for your office. YAHOO.
Pick No. 1: The Tee Dress
How cool does this chickadee look in her aviators and t-dress ($59)? Love the idea of swapping this t-shirt dress situation into the rotation instead of my go-to lounge-at-home outfit (the softest lounge pants on earth and my favorite t-shirt)?
Pick No. 2: The Tie-Front Jumpsuit
I am loving this citrus-colored tie-front jumpsuit ($110), especially paired with a splashy statement heel like these Rochas flowerbud stunners ($660)?
P.S. — If yellow isn’t your color, this linen-y-looking jumpsuit in fire engine orange-y-red looks super comfortable and on-trend.
Pick No. 3: The Yellow Romper
And speaking of citrus, I am LOVING the chic eyelet romper ($128) worn by the little lady on the right below — it looks very Miguelina, a label I am constantly stalking for sales. (In fact, I’ve been eyeing this eyelet skirt of theirs, which just dropped to a $144 sale price, and this lace-y cover-up dress, on sale for $225. But the big question is: can I justify a splurge on this stunner, which, while on sale, is still pretty spendy? And P.S. — if you’re into the daisy dress the chic pea on the left is wearing, it’s here, and it’s $158.)
But back to the $128 romper above: it looks strikingly similar to the two-piece set below by Miguelina ($350 for top, $295 for skirt), a look that blends right into my Giovanna Battaglia vacation lookbook (#swoon).
Pick No. 4: The Eyeliner
I read a rave and compelling review of Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock N Kohl eyeliner ($27) — apparently it glides on like liquid but stays put like pencil? — and had to add it to my recent beauty refresh shopping list. I’m ordering it in “Bedroom Black,” but am curious/intrigued by the “Eye Cheat” color, described as “a nude tone for wider, fuller, more awake eyes.”
Pick No. 5: The New Pen
While on the topic of pencils/implements, I have been a lover of Le Pens for.ev.er. Perfect for those of us with precise, minuscule hand-writing (a few people have described my hand-writing as “a font” — OCD much?!) I recently heard that the brand Muji makes an excellent super-fine-point pen ($10 for pack of 9 pens) and may just need to give them a whirl.
Pick No. 6: The Notebook
Speaking of office supplies — I always take notes for work (and for Magpie, too!) in one of these Leuchtterm 1917 squared, hard-covered notebooks ($20). Super high-quality paper and I LOVE writing on “graph paper” / squared or gridded pages. Perfect for my OCD, and convenient for sketches and the like. Like a child, I have decorated mine in the past with stickers — a stickered logo for my company; emoji stickers; and, most recently, have ordered these embroidered sticker letters by Fallon + Royce, on ridic sale for under $3 apiece…sorta dead ringer for Anya Hindmarch’s famous leather stickers, which cost $55 a pop!)
Pick No. 7: The One-Piece
I mentioned this on Insta recently — I’m wearing this Solid + Striped one-piece in the prettiest seafoam green ($168), but I’m a new convert to the one-piece swimsuit. I just discovered the swimwear line Karla Colletto and am DYING over her suits — especially this one with its darling floral bows ($235). (Reese Witherspoon wears her pieces, too!). I also loveeeee this pink one ($306), but feel the asymmetrical style will go out of vogue too quickly to justify the cost, whereas some of the more classic styles are TRUE investment pieces — I’ll wear them now and when I’m 80! That being said, Net-A-Porter has this ADORABLE style marked way down to $143…
You can get the look for less with one of these bow-shouldered J. Crew suits — I especially love this postcard print one!
Pick No. 8: The Red Mini
Remember how I was drooling over the red mini that one of these street style starlets was wearing ? Well, I found a damn good lookalike for a fraction of the price — $80!!!
Pick No. 9: The Floral Top
Remember when I died over Tory Burch’s Garden Party collection? Well, this adorable top of hers has gone on sale for $279, plus an additional 30% off! Also available in ever-chic white for $209, plus 30% off. While you’re there, check out the whole sale, which is PRETTY EPIC. The East Coast prep in me loves this sailboat dress, and this bold-print maxi skirt stopped me in my tracks.
Pick No. 10: The Maternity Dress
Pregnant mamas rejoice! How ADORABLE is this tie-shouldered maternity dress ($49)?? Also available in a cute top ($29) version.
I can vouch for the Muji pens — they are almost all I use, and I have also been told that my handwriting is font-worthy! 😀 They come in a few different point sizes, though — 0.5 is my favorite.
I haven’t tried the Leuchtturm notebooks — will put them on my list! I fully agree about graph-paper notebooks … my traditional favorites have been Postalco and Rollbahn/Delfonics. I have a thing for Japanese paper products!
Loving the bow-shouldered Karla Colletto suit! Great find.
MK! WOOOAHH you are sending me down a dark hole of paper products. I’d never heard of any of those brands and instantly added the Rollbahn to my Amazon wishlist. Merci merci merci.
First, graph paper for life. Why is it so hard to find? I see so many cute notebooks and open them to find those hideous wide ruled lines. No.
Also, how does Charlotte Tilbury make the most perfect makeup ever? Eyeliner is my desert island beauty item and those pencils look amazing.
Finally, I still love the TB Garden Party collection but have you seen the new Gabriella Floral print? So romantic and pretty!
Alison, why are we the same person? Love graph paper. It was SO much easier to come by in France — here, you have to dig. LOVE that new TB print! She is really nailing it lately.
