Little Exclamation Points: July 2025.

By: Jen Shoop

I short digest of things you all have been loving and chatting about in my DMs —

01. I can’t tell you how many Magpies wrote to swoon over this Blaze Milano blazer (image above via their Instagram account!) I featured in my workwear edit last week. I don’t blame you; it’s spectacular. I found it on sale in a handful of sizes for even less here. Fantastic cornerstone statement piece for your fall wardrobe. Just imagine with suede boots or a pair of high-waisted dark denim — chic (!) I’ve been compiling some very chic pre-fall / transition-to-fall pieces here in case you’re thinking ahead. I already snagged this blazer for my fall edit!

02. A great pair of transition-to-fall sandals on sale. I can’t stop looking at these beauties (currently 30% off) and dreaming of pairing them with white eyelet and, later, ecru denim. I know a lot of you are obsessed with this brand for footwear.

03. Speaking of suede and eyelet — how much do we love this look below?! All links here. The skirt is Madewell but sold out in record time. More similar options here, here, here.

04. While we’re visiting with Madewell, this denim set is excellent. I own it in the dark rinse. Perfect for summer concerts. Also can be very versatile worn as separates! You can see me styling it as separates here.

05. OK, Magpies are LOVING these pants from Ayr, just recently restocked and bound to sell out again. I had to order to check out! This is the same brand that makes our beloved Early Mornings Tee (perfect hybrid between sweatshirt and t-shirt).

06. Last Magpie shopping note: the top sellers among us from the Nordstrom sale are these Bombas socks, this Dr. Diamond plasma duo (I also re-ordered), this bakeware set, and this apron (the exact one Landon owns and adores)! Buy the apron now and keep as a Christmas gift. Neither here nor there, but I already know what I’m buying my best friend for Christmas: these Rothy’s clogs. I’ve been talking her ear off about them for awhile and I just know she’ll be obsessed.

I bought the AYR pants recently! I do like them, with some caveats. They are thinner than I expected, so they do show underwear lines if you aren’t wearing a non-show underwear. They picture shows a tucked in shirt and it would have to be a very thin one not to show underneath the fabric. They also come across as slightly more casual than I expected. I think I could wear them for dinner or maybe casual office days with a sweater on top, but I don’t think they will replace a proper pair of black trousers for work meetings. That said, super comfortable and flattering and I think I’ll wear them a ton for traveling.
