I just spent yesterday morning trying on about half of my closet in preparation for a few different parties, dinners, and festivities over the coming weeks. Sharing a few of the outfits I liked best —

QUINCE SLIP DRESS // QUINCE CASHMERE TURTLENECK (I WENT UP A SIZE FOR A LOOSER FIT) // DORSEY RING // MIGNONNE GAVIGAN EARRINGS

LAPEYRE EMILY DRESS // DORSEY JAMES NECKLACE WITH EMERALD PENDANT // DORSEY EARRINGS // MICHELLE WILHITE CLUTCH // VERONICA BEARD BLAZER // MARCH HARE WATCH

ANN MASHBURN TARTAN DRESS // DORSEY JAMES NECKLACE WITH EMERALD PENDANT // DORSEY EARRINGS // CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN MULES (OLD — SIMILAR HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE) // MARCH HARE WATCH // DORSEY RING

FEW MODA SWEATER // DORSEY JAMES NECKLACE // DORSEY CLEMENCE NECKLACE // MARCH HARE WATCH // DOEN SKIRT // EMME PARSONS SEQUIN FLATS // DORSEY EARRINGS

VERONICA BEARD BLAZER // J. CREW FACTORY POLO SWEATER // BODEN VELVET TROUSERS (UPGRADE PICK: LA LIGNE) // J. MCLAUGHLIN BAG (OLD) // DIOR J’ADIOR HEELS (DO NOT BUY – BEAUTIFUL BUT DEEPLY UNCOMFORTABLE LOL) // DORSEY JAMES NECKLACE WITH EMERALD PENDANT // DORSEY EARRINGS

TUCKERNUCK VELVET DRESS // DORSEY JAMES NECKLACE WITH EMERALD PENDANT // DORSEY EARRINGS // GUCCI TIGHTS // DORSEY RING

I’m also currently debating between wearing this Veronica Beard sequin dress and this velvet and lace Saloni dress for a holiday dinner next week with Mr. Magpie, my best friend, her husband, my sister, and my brother-in-law. I didn’t get great pics of the two options (should have put on heels and had better lighting) — see below. What’s your vote?

P.S. More festive outfits.

  1. Both dinner options are stunning! But I feel like the Veronica Beard is a “standing” dress versus a sitting at dinner dress — save it for an event where you can swan around with a glass of champagne in your hand and everyone can feel the full effect!

  2. Love these festive looks – you put together such gorgeous pieces + accessories and provide endless inspo for my own outfits! That Quince slip dress and sweater combo is currently my panic-order-overnight-it outfit for a holiday party I’m hosting this weekend, hedging against any late arriving black friday shipments and/or hating everything I’ve already mentally constructed as options, so, thank you, ha.

  3. Gorgeous! Love the contrast of your toes painted in a dark lacquer peeking out from your hot pink heels! Oozes glam!

Question about the Dorsey ring. On the website the stone resembles more of a bright cobalt blue, but in these photos it looks more of a true deep sapphire. In person which is more accurate? Thank you.

    1. Thank you :). For noticing my nails too — love how detail oriented my Magpies are.

I would say its a true deep sapphire! Does not look as bright IRL! Maybe there are natural inconsistencies? Not sure, but mine definitely reads sapphire blue.

      xx

  4. I’m so delighted by all the outfits as well! So much glam yet speaking to your effortless, chic personal style. J’adore! xx

    1. Will also vote for the Veronica Beard for the group dinner and that the Saloni be for a Shoop Festive Date Night! ❤️✨

  5. Such beautiful outfits!! The Veronica sequin would be my vote. Enjoy the dressing up and festivities! Happy Holidays…

  6. Voting for the Saloni velvet and lace number! Gorgeous!

I love all of these holiday outfits on you but am partial to the Ann Mashburn tartan dress. Maybe because it feels both festive and timeless? Was just looking at the Boden velvet trousers the other day. How is the sizing? My daughter has several Boden outfits but I’ve never ordered anything for myself (how?!).

    1. Thank you!! I agree on the Ann Mashburn. It’s a forever piece – just as chic now as I feel it will be when I’m 70, 80, etc. I love the silk shantung fabric. So special and crisp and dramatic. Something about it reminds me of Lauren Bacall and I have no idea why.

Boden – I took the petite length (hallelujah, no hemming) and think it runs a tad small to size. In general, I find the brand runs TTS though. Just these specific pants run a touch small. If you’re between sizes, go up. If you’re a true size, take your true size but note they run just a litttttle snug.

      xx

  7. Jen!! You look so unbelievably glam!!! That Veronica Beard is unreal.
I keep a photo of myself in full glam makeup and velvet dress inside my jewelry drawer to hype myself up on a normal day.

  8. Love everything but the Saloni dress is stunning and just festive! I have been meaning to tell you to check out liberty puzzles, they are beyond gorgeous and beautifully made. Merry Christmas, enjoy the season.

    1. Thank you, friend!! I feel like we’re all split between the two dresses. I guess that means I have to keep both and find an excuse to wear the other 🙂

Thanks for the Liberty puzzle tip — you are the second or third Magpie to rec these so definitely need to treat myself to one!

      Merry Christmas, friend!

    1. Love this one too. It just leapt off the page at me. So unexpected and the red velvet is such a GREAT color. Brighter than burgundy, but not like cherry red. So good!!
