Did you guys watch the classic British sit-com Fawlty Towers, starring a young John Cleese, growing up? My sibs and I owned the entire video-cassette series and loved the program so much that we re-enacted scenes for our parents, dressed up as the various characters. I believe I was Sybil Fawlty, the hotel proprieter’s wife. The most hilarious part is that my little sister that is now a fashion designer was always cast as Manuel, the Spanish waitstaff who could barely speak English. Why this was cast as it was, Lord knows. But anyway — if you’re looking for a cheer-me-up show, check it out. Everyone needs a little slapstick humor, coupled with good old fashioned jabs at marital strife.
But on a fashion note: I have to admit that I’ve spotted a couple of FALL items (get it, FALL-TY TOWERS?!?!??!?) that I will admit I’ve tagged as must-haves for the upcoming season, inspired in part by some of the gorgeous street style snaps below.
