February feels very half-way, doesn’t it? A middle ground, a between — even in dressing. I find myself yearning for color but faced with the reality that it is freezing and I am living in jeans. Sometimes a fun bag is the only way through!
My top picks for chic handbags for this between season —

LOEFFLER RANDALL TOTE // RDV TRAVERSEE WHIP TOTE (SMALL SIZE) // NAGHEDI EVIL EYE TOTE // ALEX MILL WEEKDAY TOTE // SAVETTE SYMMETRY POCHETTE // BANANA REPUBLIC CANVAS TOTE // TORY BURCH BUCKET TOTE // VESTIRSI POUCH // TORY BURCH LEE RADZIWILL BAG // ALTUZARRA TOTE
Everyday Winter Mom Bags / Diaper Bags.
This LR is coated and therefore very practical, and how fun in the gingham?! Even though she’s neutral, she has a little flair to her. Meanwhile, I would have flipped out over the idea of this canvas tote as a baby bag back when mini was born (I own in green and adore, even though I’m way beyond baby years — she carries a ton and looks very cool and lived-in with jeans and a great jacket). Finally, the Naghedi totes continue to be great “mom” bags as they’re made of woven neoprene. I really like the shape, too!
Everyday Winter Clutches.
I own and have been surprised by how much I wear this Vestirsi bag. She’s the perfect size and shape, looks elegant with jeans and a sweater (you can convert to a crossbody) and works equally well with a little slip dress. Toteme t-lock vibes but about half the price.
And of course you know my thoughts on the Savette Symmetry bags — she’s at the top of my wishlist this year!
Everyday Carryalls.
I have been wearing this RDV tote in a gray-blue color on repeat on weekdays when I just need the basics — easy to wear as a crossbody or to grab by handles. I love her structure! For something a little bigger, try the larger size of the RDV, the the iconic LL Bean tote, or this cool Banana riff with the leather handles for a little extra interest. Very RDV-coded but much less $$.
For something with a little more polish, this Lee Radziwill in the new canvas or embossed options! As you know, I have the Lee “double” bag and I wear her constantly. I just saw they only have 1 left?! Oh my gosh, this bag has been my go-to for two years now and she magically works in any season.
And if you’re after color: this red bucket bag has my heart.
Winter Work Totes.
I lean on my Cuyana system tote if I’m schlepping my laptop with me — sturdy, elegant, logo-less, polished. I also recently discovered this new brand, Oleada, and I love the look of this laptop bag for something a little different.
Vivrelle February Picks.
For those of you who joined Vivrelle with me this past month — what are you eyeing next? Do you intend to swap out once a month or hang onto yours for longer? (Refresher ICYMI: Vivrelle is a luxury bag borrowing service! I think she’s a great subscription for short-season statement bags, i.e., you’re going on a fabulous vacation or you want something bold for spring but don’t want the investment, or as a way to test out a few high-end bags before investing in one.)
The bags I’ve recently hearted with an eye towards renting next:
+This Hermes Evelyne in rich navy.
+This Chanel wallet on a chain in butter yellow. (Doen just curated a suite of butter yellow beauties and the edit really influenced me towards this color. It led me to wear this cashmere sweater over a white tee for the super bowl! Tuckernuck has a good look for less.)
I believe my code JENSHOOP still gets you your first month free, and then it’s $139/mo after.
