Easter(n) Promises.

By: Jen Shoop

Easter is fast approaching and I couldn’t be happier because my sister, her husband, and my best friend and her husband (p.s., it feels wrong to refer to those two men as “someone’s husband” because they are among my dearest friends themselves!) are flying out to spend the weekend in Chicago with us.  We have been putting on elaborate Easter spreads the last few years.  Last year involved a spit-roasted leg of lamb, homemade bread, a bunch of Thomas Keller vegetable recipes (i.e., extremely involved and insanely delicious), and probably a dozen bottles of wine/champagne/rose with a hearty couple rounds of cocktails to match.  So I’m already gearing up for another epic celebration chez Magpie.  Below, a few things on my list for the occasion:

+Easter banner ($8).

+Mah-jor statement necklace ($68).  As you may have noticed, I’ve dialed back on the number of statement necklaces I’ve been featuring over the past few months.  But this one…this one is epic.  Pair with a simple white dress (love that one!) and giddyup.

+Jumpsuit ($115).

+Lace up heels ($130).

+Bunny bowl ($15).  I snagged one of these last year and it looked so sweet on my Easter tablescape next to oodles of pastel tulips.

+Manebi espadrilles ($145).

+If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere warm and sunny, this bikini says it all (Marysia, $136 for top).

+Carven skirt ($600).

+Delpozo heel ($700).

+Floral drops ($34).

+This sweet ottoman caught my eye ($60).  Perfect for a little girl’s room / nursery.  Bought also lovely in this Easterly palette!

+Alice McCall dress ($290).

+Lace-up wedge ($85).

+Printed crop top (Alice McCall, $190).

+Wide-leg trousers (Jonathan Simkhai, $390).

Need more inspo?  A few other dresses competing for my top pick for Easter day:

+Eyelet, sheer panels, pastels ($298).

+Delicate and affordable ($149) in such a fun shade of pink!

+If only I could find this stunner on sale ($650)…

+Cynthia Rowley midi print dress (on sale for $423).

+Floral, off-the-shoulder, and less than $100.

+A bit of a darker palette, but floral! ($495)

+In case you have more of a conservative Easter lined up ($398).

+This lace dress ($480) in the blush color continues to haunt me.  Should I take the plunge?
