I cannot determine the label of the gorgeous dress above (or the chic pea wearing it!) but I have had it on my desktop, saved as a thumbnail, for months now. It’s too good not to share, so here it is, as the inspiration behind the sophisticated and chic finds below, which are mainly in ivory/natural colorways…
ANOTHER DREAMY TIERED IVORY DRESS (MORE SIZES HERE)
CHANEL-ESQUE QUILTED LEATHER BALLET FLATS (PEOPLE ADORE THIS BRAND; IN THIS COLOR, SUCH A FANTASTIC WARDROBE STAPLE)
DEAD OVER THESE CARAMEL-COLORED SHADES FROM LE SPECS (I ALREADY OWN AND LOVE THIS STYLE IN BLACK)
ELEGANT EQUIPMENT DRESS (ON SALE)
THIS LINEN SET WOULD LOOK CRAZY CHIC WITH SLIDES LIKE THESE
LACE-UP CANVAS MARYSIA DRESS (50% OFF)
ANYTHING BY KHAITE IS SO INTRINSICALLY COOL
DROOLING OVER THIS SIR DRESS, MARKED DOWN TO $144
MAJORLY ON-TREND FOR UNDER $70 — WOULD LOOK GREAT WITH JEAN SHORTS OR WHITE JEANS
OF COURSE HAD TO HAVE THESE CHANEL-INSPIRED PEARL SANDALS ($59!)
P.S. So hard to think about fall right now, but the one thing I know I will be buying as the summer winds down is a pair of new “daily” boots that are durable, flat/low-heel, warm, easy to slip on — AND CHIC. I had a pair of Isabel Marant shearling-lined flat boots last year that I absolutely wore into the ground. I am 90% sure I will be buying these No.6 shearling clog boots, which I know several of you already own. They were all over NYC last winter and I kind of fell in love with their Scandi-cool pragmatism given the weather here. I like the way the look with dark skinny jeans tucked in! (You can get the look for less with these.)
P.P.S. These legging/jogger hybrids are so chic!
P.P.P.S. If you’re relieved to find a roundup of floral-and-frill-free clothes here, you can find more in this vein under the “khaki” microtrend here.
Hi Jen! Have you seen the pieces from Kara Thoms? They have these beautiful linen sets that look like they’d be right up your alley.
Re: boots: I am in a committed relationship with Aquatalia. Pricing is similar to brands like Loeffler Randall, but I find that Aquatalia’s weatherproofing offered an advantage especially when I was living in the Midwest. I have 2 pairs of knee-high boots that I wore for 3 or 4 winters in Cleveland, OH that are still looking great (after a quick wipe and polish) despite all the exposure to the elements. I also have their suede ankle boots, and their suede is weatherproofed as well. I do tend to wait till after the winter season when they get marked down to half off. While they are not trendy (more like reliable classics), the quality is excellent. I’ve heard good things about Blondo and their weatherproof boots too, but I can only speak from personal experience about Aquatalia. Might be worth a look for your pedestrian NYC lifestyle!
I’ve heard such good things about Aquatalia from you and other Magpie readers! Will definitely investigate for winter.
I JUST discovered Kara Thoms via Julia Berolzheimer a few weeks ago — beautiful pieces! Thanks for the reminder!!

I am obsessed with Sir the Label. The pieces are beautifully made, drape nicely, and are so flattering. I highly recommend!!
I’m so jealous!!! I have been tracking this brand for awhile. Love their florals too!!! Thanks for weighing in!
Hi! I wonder if you’d consider adding images with the links you share on your blog? I’m not a blogger so have no idea if that takes a ton of work (I’m sure it does), but personally I’d be much more likely to click on a link if there’s a picture showing me what the link will take me to. Without the visual I usually don’t bother. Just some constructive feedback from a reader/fan 🙂
Hi Hillary – thank you for the feedback!! And for your readership! So lucky to have you here ❤️
It’s Jasmine Tookes in a Zimmerman dress: https://zimmermann-sydney.tumblr.com/post/187835431069/spotted-jasmine-tookes-wears-the-espionage
Thank you!!!
I have a couple of pairs of linen culottes similar to the Pixie Market ones and I LOVE them — so comfortable and chic in the warm weather!
Also: love love love the Tulúm set from Mie!
And, I hear you on turning an eye towards fall. I had been looking for a stylish (yet practical) pair of dark brown boots and scooped up a pair from Loeffler Randall in brown croc at 70% off! They will look great with a deep brown alpaca sweater I have. And as I’ve mentioned before, I have & love those No. 6 clog boots, especially in that mid-heel height (any higher, and they fall out of the “practical” category, at least for me!)
xx
Oo exciting snag from LR. They consistently make really beautiful footwear that lasts and lasts. Win!!!
