I curated a bunch of buzzed-about beauty products for the perfect bronzy, glowy summer makeup below, most of which I’ve already tried. I cannot underscore how fabulous these bronzing drops are (blend into your foundation) and how much I love layering this cream bronzer on top, especially a dab on the nose, forehead, and cheeks.

ONE SIZE SETTING SPRAY // RHODE GLAZING MILK // CHANEL TINT // RHODE LIP DUO // TOWER 28 LIP OIL // WESTMAN ATELIER BRONZING DROPS // PATRICK TA BLUSH // CREAM BRONZER
01. This sunscreen leaves your skin so radiant! (Use code JEN20). It’s sort of like a primer, SPF, glow stick, and tinted moisturizer all in one. Wunderproduct. You will LOVE this.
02. Love this Dibs duo stick — you have to get the brush to go with it; it’s truly amazing and has in the past had like a 40,000 person waitlist. Worth the hype!
03. I swear by this ethereal glow serum for the perfect summertime glow. I blend this in with my moisturizer when I want to really dial up the glam/glow/gloss.
04. Lightweight bronze drops — dab a few dots on your face while applying foundation.
05. This bronzer gives the perfect sun-kissed color.
06. Smudge-proof tubing mascara. The mascara that converted me into a tubing mascara fiend. I resisted for so long but this one is worth it.
07. Peptide cream bronzer — radiant finish with no shimmer.
08. Rhode peptide lip combo — fantastic consistency; not sticky.
09. Essential skin prep for glowing skin. I cannot underscore how essential this is. It’s the final layer between skincare and cosmetics. Creates the perfect canvas!
11. This Patrick Ta blush comes in such fab shades.
12. This lip softening balm is another obsession of mine. My friend Chesley had some backstage / in the green room before our P&P event and we were both going wild over it. She said she’s bought every color!
13. Lightweight skin tint to add all-over coverage without the weight.
14. This gel highlighter stick gives you the facial-fresh glow.
15. Simply the BEST concealer. Does not settle into fine lines; a perfect blendable, fluid consistency. The GOAT.
16.Plumping lip oil (under $20).
17. Powder melt setting spray — keeps makeup in place all day!

Quick question, Jen: are you a blog reader as well as author? Do you ever consider yourself « in dialogue » with anything else (either in the zeitgeist or something in the past you’re responding to)? You have such a strong sense of your own voice and your own taste.
Thank you, Kelly! I appreciate this note. I don’t actually read too many other blogs — I do read Suleika Jaouad and A Window in the Country almost every time they hit my inbox because I think both of them are exceptional, stand-out writers and I find their work challenges me to be better. I do skim the blogs of a couple of friends of mine, too. But mainly I have tried very hard to keep my blinders on with regard to what other people are doing/writing/etc, as I want this place to be as authentic as I can make it.
