Today’s Find List — New Year’s Eve 2025.

By: Jen Shoop

A couple of things I am loving / enjoying / finding on my radar this new year’s eve:

01. This charming “support your local birds” mug (seen above) my friend Caroline sent me. Quite possibly the most “me” mug ever. Another girlfriend gave me this birding bingo (also seen above) for Christmas! Do my friends know me or what?!

02. Negative whipped boy shorts underwear. Absolutely the best — doesn’t cut in or constrict anywhere; ultra-soft. My sister told me that one of her goals for 2026 was to build a “no-skips underwear drawer,” and that she intended to slowly swap out the dreaded ones you must wear on laundry days for Negative (she’s also addicted). I realized I just needed a couple more pairs to ensure I have one for every day of the week and ordered this three-pack, which saved me a bundle. Yes, these are insanely expensive for underwear but I promise you’ll never regret the purchase. I also just discovered that Revolve carries Negative? I didn’t realize they were carried anywhere else! Anyway, Revolve discounted a couple of their pieces, which is BIG NEWS and probably a mistake because the deepest discount I’ve ever seen on Negative is 15% off during Cyber Week. You can score their divine whipped bralette on sale (I own this in multiple colors — my favorite loungewear underpinning); these boy shorts on sale (never tried this collection, but intrigued), and one of their whipped henleys at a discount.

03. Designer sales! I am writing more about this later this week but I think I’m going to purchase a Savette 19 bag in the new year. Maybe as a way to celebrate the launch of my book? I’m tempted by the versions currently discounted at Net-A-Porter (40% off!!) but I kind of have my heart set on a taupe/gray/greige color…and of course those are full price. I’m also drooling over all the Blaze Milano on sale: this, this.

04. Early report on the SKII Facial Essence: I love it. Skin feels insanely soft and balanced afterward — like, perfect hydration. I was intrigued by this product after I read that “in the 1970s, scientists noticed the hands of elderly Japanese sake brewers looked younger than their age. The scientists wondered if something in the fermentation process kept the skin looking younger. Further research into fermentation, led to the discovery of PITERA” — the main ingredient in the essence.

05. Games with my kids! We’ve been playing a lot of games this week, and we’re loving this new Sushi Go Party my sister gave us. Really fun — light strategy game that promotes math in the calculation of points at the end. (More of our favorite family games here.)

06. Ballet slippers (barely-there pink) on my nails. Feels so fresh and light for the new year.

07. Jenny Bayliss’ I’ll Be Home for Christmas. I started and DNF’d at least four holiday romances this year — was so disappointed! Magpie readers recommended Jenny Bayliss and I am truly enjoying it, even though we’re now post-holiday. The writing is insightful and heartfelt. I plan to tuck into The Correspondent (our January book club pick) next week!

08. I can’t wait for my new Vuori order to arrive! I picked up this top and this bra. Guess I’m having a pastel blue moment because I also arranged organized a bunch of Amazon favorites and finds in the same color palette here.
