Sezane’s winter collection is full of spectacular pieces. If I had to pick one new item, it would be this belted suede wonder. (Above, see the Emile sweater of theirs I wear year after year — this is probably my top rec for an investment you will reach for time and time again. I have more details on sizing, fit, texture, etc below.) But for something new: I love the tie detail at the waist on this suede jacket and think this would look beyond fabulous with light-wash or mid-wash or ecru denim and a simple white tee.

Winter Sezane Spotlight: The Emile Cardigan.

One of my perennial favorite pieces from Sezane is their Emile cardigan. It is absolutely ideal for late fall / early winter, as it is quite warm and can be worn as a coat/top layer. A wool-alpaca blend, it’s not exactly soft on the skin, so it’s best layered atop a cozy base layer (I like to pair with a pointelle tee), and I love the brushed, dramatic effect its texture adds to any outfit.

I take an XXS (size down from my usual XS) in this and think it fits perfectly — so I’d advise going down one size in this unless you want it REALLY oversized. (In general, it has an oversized fit.)

A Note on Sizing at Sezane.

Sezane’s sizing can be tricky, and honestly switches from garment to garment; take good note of the product descriptions on each page, as they will often let you know whether to size up or down. Even with these suggestions, I generally go up ONE SIZE in pants, no matter what they say. I find the pants run really narrow / slim, and though I am petite, I have curves!
