A short message from from Norway — other-worldly in its deep-breath beauty. I feel suspended, out of touch with the season, the time of day, the rhythms of my normal life. Here, it is cold and rainy, with an early autumn feeling in the air. The midnight sky is a faded periwinkle; it never gets dark. A beneficence of travel, these disconnects that invite you to glance back at your own life and see its parochialities. Almost like looking back at earth from a space shuttle, everything small and green.
More to come from our leg in London (leg one of two — we spend another three nights there on our return from Norway), which was nothing short of fabulous. Highlights: staying at The Goring hotel, the Tower of London (kids loved!!!), and a memorable dinner at Quality Chophouse (the quality of the food was next level). Stay tuned!
