T.S. Eliot wrote that “April is the cruelest month” but February has always felt bleaker. We are not quite to the thaw, have not yet poked our heads outside on a March morning to find the iciness in the air gone, and are still weeks from the prophetic crocus.
Instead, may I suggest retail therapy with an eye towards the promise of spring? Some of the finds below are wear-now; others you will be happy to find in your closet, waiting for their debut on the first suitably warm day.

Oh, I feel this February-as-the-cruelest-month thing! I have to say, this winter hasn’t been awful, but living in Boston I’m always preparing for the worst when it comes to weather, i.e. snow into April. Sigh! But we’re getting there, bit by bit …
I would LOVE a pair of those MG ballet flats … so chic with the slightly higher vamp! I love the monogram options as well. I have my eye on a pair of petal-pink Martiniano flats that are kind of similar … we shall see if I end up going for them! xx
Sounds perfect — love petal pink. Probably my favorite color. xx
As always such lovely things. The sweater from & Other Stories is such a beautiful color…have you ever ordered from them? How is quality? Sizing?
Hi Nancy! I have never bought anything from there so I unfortunately don’t feel I have a leg to stand on here…can anyone else report back?! xx
