I think I might treat myself to a special handbag this year. I’m dialing in on the Savette Symmetry 19. I’ve been eyeing Savette for years and years and have heard excellent reports of quality and craftsmanship, especially relative to price. These are not inexpensive bags, but they aren’t Khaite-level prices. The founder of the brand worked for Khaite and The Row and has all the bags handmade in a family-owned factory in Italy that has been around for generations. I was initially tempted by the pochettes but I think I will get more versatile use out of the 19, which can be worn as a clutch or a shoulder bag. The 26 is also spectacular — a little longer. I find myself graduating to this style of handbag in this phase of life, especially for travel. I’m very tempted by this one at Net-A-Porter, which is 40% off, but I think I want to invest in a fabric that I can wear year-round; this one reads “summer.” This one is also spectacular (and 40% off), but is it also too summery? It’s all-leather but I feel like that embossing detail reads summer.
As I was researching this bag, I found myself gravitating towards “quiet luxury” as a general vibe for the 2026 year. This is not my typical aesthetic, though I long admire it! I am much more of a playful maximalist in my daily dressing — I like to have FUN while getting dressed, and I don’t take fashion too seriously. Still. There is just something about the turn in year that makes me want to strip everything back to basics. In the photo above, a few “quiet luxury” items in my possession already:

*I’m still obsessed with this, months later. It is a scent enhancer that you layer over your daily perfume to give yourself a “je ne sais quoi” chic scent that is individual to you. It elevates any scent and adds complexity to it. I love it. I tend to spritz on in the morning over my base scent and again at 3 pm for a little boost.
