A few items I’m completely obsessed with at the moment —

HOTEL LOBBY CANDLE // HILL HOUSE REVERSIBLE JACKET // WUTHERING HEIGHTS // K18 HAIR MASK // IRENE FORTE FACIAL SPRAY // FELLOW COFFEE MAKER // ROTHY’S CLOGS // SPLENDID PAJAMAS
01. MEM Tea — my Boston-based sister introduced me to this Cambridge, MA company and now I exclusively order loose leaf tea from them. I love (!) their spicy tumeric tonic (my daughter loves it too — more cinnamon than anything else, and not really spicy), licorice blend (also cinnamon forward), Mediterranean mint, and Rooibos Decorated. Autumn is tea season in our house and Landon and I like to brew a kettle in the evenings, after dinner.
02. Rothy’s cozy clogs — I know I’m a broken record, but somehow these boucle ones improve upon the original version. My feet live permanently in these when I’m at home. So comfortable, soft, cozy, everything. I swear my body language changes the minute these are on my feet.
03. Splendid Pillowsoft pajamas — OK, you know I’m a Lake girl. Gradually, I’ve pruned and replaced, pruned and replaced, until 99.9% of my pajama drawer is Lake (I mainly wear their pima crews, but also love their Relax sets, especially when sick, and their kimono sets if we have houseguests who might see me in the morning — I feel like they’re the most presentable). But these Splendid jammies I just received are…!!!! The softest. They are like recovery pajamas? So soft and cuddly and warm. What I’d wear (sorry to be morbid) if unwell, recovering from a procedure, post-partum, etc! They have a few different styles and patterns. I’ve worn every day since receiving…
04. K18 Molecular Hair Bonding Treatment — I recently googled “how often can you use K18?!” because I discovered over this past month that my hair looks much, much better when I use it more frequently than I thought I should. On investigating further, it seems like you are meant to use every 3-4 washes, which is far more frequently than I had assumed…but I have been using 2x a week? I might continue doing this because there doesn’t seem to be any repercussion, and I notice such an enormous difference in my hair shine, softness, smoothness. If you don’t use this yet, I implore you to try! A must for color-treated hair IMO. (While we’re talking hair, two other items I love that I’ve mentioned several times: Aveda shine drops, which I apply to wet hair — weightless but really make a difference in a blowout — and Necessaire’s rosemary serum, which I apply at least 1x a week while exercising and then rinse out with my shower. I find these three items together help my hair look lustrous, healthy, and strong.)
05. Hotel Lobby “Holiday in NY” Candle — on my studio desk, burning all week long. It smells warm, spicy, sexy, but not on-the-nose “Christmas” or anything. It gives me this low-level sense of coziness and excitement for the holidays. It makes me happy to be inside!
06. Wuthering Heights — geez, I cannot peel myself away from this book! I hadn’t read it since high school and can’t believe how modern, fresh, and unhinged it is. Ha! I cannot wait to discuss. I’m fascinated by the pastiche of narratives and narrators in these — a lot of textual instability that creates a complicated and nuanced position for the reader.
07. Melona Ice bars — you can get these at Costco right now and they are SO delicious. My children and I are obsessed with them. They’re like a gelato-consistency, milky-fruity popsicle. Unreal. Don’t sleep on the melon flavor; I think it’s my favorite. Another great recent Costco discovery: enormous Bavarian pretzels (in the freezer aisle). We served them for an Oktoberfest dinner this past weekend (along with bratwurst and cabbage) and were so impressed! These are not your freezer aisle Super Pretzel. They have great flavor and texture. Will be buying again — keeping in mind for SuperBowl!
08. Irene Forte Facial Spray — written several times about this in the past month but I’m absolutely smitten with this toning spray. It smells divine, leaves skin refreshed and brightened, and is somehow both gentle and invigorating. Contains rose and witch hazel — I love when skincare includes legible ingredients like this. They sent me this bottle maybe six months ago and I am hopelessly devoted; I use it several times a day and crave it!
09. Statement jackets. These are my rescue for days when I’m in the studio and need to pop out for an errand/meeting/etc — just throw one on over my uniform and feel immediately pulled together. The two I keep reaching for right now: this HHH (nearly sold out, grab if you love!; similar vibe here) and this leopard AYR (reversible). Also love the way Julia Amory has been styling this jacket with light-wash, everyday jeans and flats.
10. Our Fellow coffee maker! So brilliantly designed and easy to use. Candidly, I used to buy my coffee if Landon wasn’t around to make it because I could never remember how to use our previous coffee maker (mainly, didn’t know how many beans to measure out and grind, how much water to add, etc). This machine walks you through all of that and gives you pourover quality coffee. You can scale it to exactly how many cups you want, and it will tell you how many grams of beans to grind, and then handle the water itself. The output is incredible — smooth, rich, perfectly extracted. This is a machine even coffee snobs can get behind because it is so customizable; you can extend the length of time for extraction, etc., to your preference. This is my top rec for a splurgey holiday gift for a coffee-lover, or anyone who really likes precise, well-designed tech and food tech. We now have basically everything they make — their grinder is incredible (even has this clever grind knocker lever on the side to get all the grounds out, and the little container it sends the grinds into is magnetic so it keeps in place so easily), their tea kettle is incredible (we keep this on our counter), their gooseneck kettle is incredible (yes, we have both kettles and use for different things). You can tell that this is a design-first brand; they are making products that really work, are cleverly designed…and, as a bonus, look fantastic even on a countertop. Just love this company.

Also obsessed with the Rothy’s clogs! Just got my second pair.. they do something magical to your feet!
100%. They spark such joy!!
Keep us updated on how the Splendid pajamas wash, please! I recently bought a super soft pair of pjs from Nordstrom’s house line and was so disappointed when they pilled after a few washes.
OK, good thought – will report back! Xx
