What to Wear: Late Autumn Boat Day.
Our friends are taking us out on their boat in the Chesapeake Bay this weekend! We’re going to stop at the Maritime Museum and I can’t wait to show Hill the lighthouse there after reading this Magpie-recommended book with him a few times in the past week. I’ll be wearing something like the following; it’d also be perfect for any outdoor excursion this weekend — apple picking, family walk, cidery!

BARBOUR JACKET // JENNI KAYNE SWEATER (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // CAMP SNAP SCREEN-FREE DIGITAL CAMERA // MOTHER HALF PIPE JEANS // GIANVITO ROSSI LEOPARD BOAT SHOES (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // LL BEAN BOAT AND TOTE
What to Wear: Fireside Dinner with Friends.
We have a fireside dinner with friends coming up — planning a look like this: polished but cozy. I added these leather pants to my closet this fall and they are so, so good. The first leather pant I’ve ever tried that is truly flattering. Leather is not stiff — supple and elegant. Look for less here.

DOEN CARDIGAN (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // MEGA EARRINGS // CARTIER WATCH (OMG — VIBE FOR LESS HERE) // FRAME LEATHER PANTS (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // VERONICA BEARD HENLEY (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // SAVETTE CLUTCH (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // MANOLO FLATS (LOOK FOR LESS HERE)
What to Wear: Art Pop Up.
If you’re local to DC, two artist friends of mine (Paige Janes and Tierney Gordon) are hosting an art pop up shop in Georgetown next week, and you should join! I’ve purchased gorgeous art from both of them and they such lovely women to boot.

HIGH SPORT SWEATER (VIBE FOR LESS HERE) // DORSEY CECILIA EARRINGS // MONCLER PUFFER JACKET (SIMILAR VIBES FOR LESS HERE, HERE, HERE) // RAG + BONE SOFIE JEANS (USE CODE JEN20) // ALAIA FLATS (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // LOEWE BAG (VIBE FOR LESS HERE)
What to Wear: The Nutcracker.
I do take requests! A Magpie is thinking ahead to what to wear to the Nutcracker with her daughter — one of my favorite traditions as well. I can’t plug this blouse enough; I bought in black last holiday and it looks so chic with velvet trousers/skirt OR with dark wash denim for a glitzed up night of cocktails at a friend’s house.

STAND STUDIO COAT // DOEN BLOUSE // DORSEY EARRINGS // ME + EM TROUSERS // AQUAZZURA HEELS // GIRLS SAL + PIMENTA DRESS // NUTCRACKER DOLL SET
What to Wear: Outdoor Soccer Tournament.
Tis the season — and it’s been cold! My sister gave me these incredible rechargeable hand warmers which I will be carrying with me allllllll winter long.

VARLEY PUFFER // KULE SWEATER // VARLEY SLIM CUFF SWEATPANTS // ALEX MILL TOTE // ADIDAS SNEAKERS // RECHARGEABLE HAND WARMERS
What to Wear: Friendsgiving.

SIMKHAI WRAP COAT // LIZZIE FORTUNATO EARRINGS // RL DRESS // POTTERY BARN PLACECARD HOLDERS // DEAR ANABELLE PLACECARDS // SCAROSSO MULES
P.S. Where I need to be.
P.P.S. Cozy books to read right now.
P.P.P.S. When was the last time you surprised yourself?

Do you have any recommendations for what you would wear if you were in grad school – I’m thinking day-to-day for classes and long study sessions in the library? I struggle with balancing (1) looking (somewhat) put together, (2) wearing layers since the temperature in the buildings can fluctuate, (3) and being comfortable enough that I can study on campus for hours and not feel the need to go home to change. Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards leggings and oversized sweatshirts, which have the added benefit of letting me go to the campus gym for a workout, but I feel like I don’t look put together.
Your nutcracker look is perfection!
Thank you! xx
Co-sign the leopard Adidas! Bought them immediately, they arrived in a day and I haven’t taken them off.
