March Shopping Forecast: What We’re Buying Right Now.

By: Jen Shoop

What’s on your shopping list at the moment? Below, sharing the items we Magpies have been snapping up at great velocity this week, as we turn the corner on March. This list tells a tale of two realities: some of us are gearing up for warm weather (thinking ahead to the spring months — or perhaps preparing for a spring break somewhere balmy) and others are seeking little ways to warm ourselves through the dregs of this winter weather, through cashmere scarves and elevated lounge.

01. Our new Magpie calling card. If you see a gal wearing this dress at the pool or on the beach, she may be a Magpie reader — lol. (This dress is quickly assuming the status amongst Magpies of the Gap Kick Fit jeans of 2022 / AYR Early Morning Tee of 2025 — i.e., we LOVE.) Hard not to see why: the ric rac trim! the joyful colors! the vibe is very Johanna Ortiz but the price tag is under $200 (try codes YOUROCK or YOURULE for 20% off). Will look fantastic with our favorite wrap sandals, a chunky necklace, and a cute little bag.

02. For those of us still stuck in this cold weather: a cozy, on-trend mood booster in a springy color (try codes YOUROCK or YOURULE for 20% off). These triangle scarves have been ultra-trendy this season — see below for some fab street-style inspo:

03. Returning to warm weather mode: this spectacular linen caftan. I own one of these in a different colorway and the embroidery and silhouette lend a unique, handcrafted look to it. This is a great buy for a vacation, Easter Sunday, graduation, spring bridal or baby shower guest dress, family photos! The list goes on. She’s perfect.

04. A winning bridge between seasons with this blouse: you can wear right now beneath a cardigan; wear later without. Showing styling options for now and later below. The price is right, too!

WEAR LATER: MADEWELL BLOUSE // LA DOUBLE J HEADBAND // AURELIA DEMARK SHELL NECKLACE (VIBE FOR LESS HERE) // PAIGE DANI SHORTS // PAM MUNSON TOTE // THE “IT” FLIP FLOP FROM CHRISTOPHER ESBER

05. Another warm weather win that has been trending heavily among Magpie shoppers: this darling Minnow dress. Love the color, fit, breeziness! Doesn’t it just look like a good mood?

06. In the wear-now-into-spring category: my new suede fringe mocs/loafers from Freda Salvador. So many gorgeous colors. I went with citron but — as you can see throughout a lot of the styled looks above — that cerulean/denim blue is the vibe for this season ahead. My code MAGPIE10 gets you 10% off these beauties.

07. For those of us still hibernating: Negative’s latest addition to their lineup of elite loungewear. They just nail what we want to wear at home, don’t they?! (More on my favorite Negative pieces here.)

08. Lastly, new Cloudmonsters in fun colors. I’ve mentioned this recently, but these are my favorite walking sneakers. I wore them all over Disney last spring and they’re my go-tos for neighborhood walks / family active excursions.

Everything organized in one place here — the eight things we’re buying for spring!:

P.S. The Four Orders I Placed Last Week…

A little post-script on a few things I picked up this past week:

01. This Guest in Residence “Wild Rag” cashmere bandana. These have sold through several times, and I know several Magpies who own these and rave about them. I spent a little too much time looking at styling videos of this piece on TikTok; this look was a favorite. J’adore! It’s combining the two nano-trends of bandana print everything and those cashmere triangle scarves. The Tuckernuck style above will probably have more longevity but I couldn’t help myself with this one…use code GIRWELCOME10 for 10% off. (Seen below on Guest in Residence founder, Gigi Hadid.)

02. PTIOX. I finished a bottle of this and immediately re-ordered (wish I’d purchased while on a Black Friday deal…). I’ve seen this described as “Botox in a bottle,” and I think that’s over-inflated but I have specifically noticed a difference in my forehead lines especially towards the hair line. I think it noticeably softens (does not erase) fine lines. It also gives you this glassy skin look that persists throughout the day. I’m convinced! I use this after Dr. Bowe vitamin c and before my Vintner’s Daughter. (I realize this is an elaborate routine…!). I found this Reddit thread on the product accurate / not overblown / interesting — it’s what convinced me to try it. The vibe is: look, this isn’t going to dramatically erase wrinkles but it really does soften the look.

03. Spring shopping for my son! Picked up some really cute patterns and colors for him from Minnow and Cadets. Everything linked HERE.

04. Doen fringed pants! I took the plunge! Tassels/fringe are IT for spring.

Ok, you sold me on Doen’s fringe pants! I have an upcoming trip to Europe, and I am picturing myself swishing down cobble stone streets. I’ve never ordered from Doen before. What size did you order? I think we’re the same size. Thanks for highlighting this tres chic style!
