Making Me Blush.

By: Jen Shoop

Maybe it’s because tomorrow is Valentine’s Day — but I’ve been d.y.i.n.g. over girly items in blush, pink, and coordinating pastels or (especially!) florals.  Don’t these looks make you stop in your tracks?

Below, pretty lil nothings to drool over:

+Alexandre Birman velvet heels ($695).

+The prettiest pink lace frothy confection I ever did see ($495).  I actually just snapped up this similar $24 (!!!!) budget buy for this summer.  Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it for that price!

+Heart-shaped confetti ($9).

+OTS top ($46).  One of the few pieces I’ve snagged for myself as a post-pregnancy treat.

+Tod’s loafers ($445).  I own a pair of these in cheery tangerine and LOVE them.  I’ve also heard people rave about M. Gemi’s Felize loafers ($198 for metallics, $178 for solids — that gray color is amazing.  Tres sophisticated!).

+One of my favorite gifts ever from Mr. Magpie — an Hermes Clic bracelet ($600).

+One of my favorite perfumes of all time ($115).

+Red Valentino pussy bow dress ($575).  If you like the shape of this dress, this $58 steal has been on my watch list for awhile, too.

+Just shut up with this perfect bag from Fendi ($3,850).  I can’t even deal.

+Scalloped-edged flat ($228).  Precious.

+On the floral side of things, I recently treated myself to this beautiful home decor book ($22) — it’s the sequel to this one, and I love them both.  Plus, aren’t they gorgeous coffee table styling accents?!

+Speaking of styling accents, this sweet porcelain elephant figurine ($5) made me smile.  Such a precious little accent piece for a shelfie.

+Zimmermann goodness ($495).

+Rebecca Taylor floral blouse ($195).

+Those darned Sam Edelman flats ($120).

I’m pretty much drooling all over my keyboard RN.

I also found a bunch of more affordable pieces along the same lines that you can click through below.

  1. I’ve been loving all things blush, too!

Also curious about this SheIn dress. I had a bad experience years ago where the dress I ordered was child sized and it was a struggle to get them to take it back. I think I’m ready to try again with this lovely, though. The reviews say it runs big. Did you find that to be true? How is the fit in the chest/shoulders? Thanks!

    1. Hi Sarah! I’ve gotten a few questions about this — yes, I’ve heard bad stories about SheIn so I was verrrry leery about ordering. BUT. This particular dress turned out perfectly. I am 36 weeks pregnant, and was able to fit into an XS. So it’s definitely very roomy. In the chest and shoulders, it was a little loose but not overly so. I fully anticipate I’ll be able to wear this after pregnancy for a loose, boho vibe. Hope that helps!!! xx

PS I normally wear an XS or 0.

  2. I don’t know what I’d use that heart confetti for, but I need it. Need. For sure.

Have you ordered from Shein before? I’ve considered purchases from (from that and other similar direct from China retailers) but it seems like a toss up. Some people end up with great pieces but I’ve seen plenty of pretty funny accounts of people who get things that are significantly different from what was pictured, or weirdly sized, or made of some highly flammable material.

    1. LOL I know — Alison, I bought not only heart confetti but also this metallic mylar love balloon: http://rstyle.me/n/ce54fvyjd. Why, I do not know. But I “needed” it. As for SheIn, I had heard similar accounts, but this dress turned out SO pretty in-person. I posted a pic of myself in it on Insta yesterday. I love it and got a lot of compliments on it, actually! I’m usually pretty leery of these types of shops, but I felt it was pretty low-risk with the $24 price tag. xoxo
