Tis the season for little festive gatherings, happy hours, reunions! One of our favorite Sunday afternoon activities during this season is to pick up a couple dozen oysters and a bottle of champagne and bring them to my in-laws’ house for happy hour! If you’re similarly inclined, sharing a few fun little posts from seasons past to guide your happy hour planning:

A few outfits to meet these moments —

LA DOUBLE J VELVET FEATHER TOP // DORSEY EARRINGS // TUCKERNUCK CLUTCH // TUCKERNUCK VELVET BLAZER // J. CREW FAIR ISLE // TUCKERNUCK VELVET PANTS // DOLCE VITA MULES // TANYA TAYLOR ROBIN TOP* // ANN MASHBURN TARTAN BAG // SELF PORTRAIT EMBELLISHED CARDIGAN
*Wanted to mention that I got the dress version of this top in navy and OMG. It is a little different from my usual style — more minimalist, more Carolyn Bessette Kennedy — but I feel so elegant and grown up in it. I think this would be stunning with big earrings, an updo, and a glitzy heel.
A few other suggestions:
01. La Ligne Colbys get a ton of wear. I love to pair these with a chunky knit OR longline velvet blazer (look for less here).
02. If you’re feeling dressier, I can’t stop thinking about this silky paisley maxi from VB, or a simple velvet mini (look for less here) with patterned or opaque tights. Iconic!
03. My favorite favorite heel silhouette, and absolutely perfect in the green velvet. Classic, classy, sexy, perfectly proportioned. I think Sam Edelman’s Hazel is an incredible look for less option. I own it in a few colors and love that it has no logos, etc — just a great, classic shape.
04. My favorite coupes. These spark SUCH joy. I use them for both daiquiris and champagne.
05. A roundup of chic hostess gifts.
06. For a more casual-leaning look, I love a glitzy fair isle (or this!) with wide-leg denim.
07. Another styling trick: wear black everything and then zhush up with a bold accessory like this CHIC new clutch from Altuzarra or this tartan bag from Ann Mashburn.
08. Fun velvet wide legs at a good price. I’d keep the rest of the look simple — slim-fit cashmere cardigan, riviere.
09. Anything fur or sherpa trim is so fab. Love this and these.
10. A great faux fur jacket over top!
11. Love these silk dupioni shells with slim fit pants.
12. Self Portrait has the most fabulous glitzy clutches and minaudieres out — see this, this!
13. Love a glitzy little embellished cardigan / jacket to throw on over top of jeans. I own and love this, this, and this — each perfection with jeans and a statement earring!

Would love to see what you are gifting your kids this year!! Have no clue at all what’s cool for the 6 to 8 year olds!
Will share! Landon and I are a little late and still finalizing what we’re giving…hoping to share a list soon!!! xx
Just one quick question. You know I go crazy over your coat options and you have several I would DIE to have. WHERE do you keep so many coats?????
Love the idea of impromptu Sunday happy hour! When I lived in Columbus in my late 20s, we had a Monday night happy hour tradition (MNH2). Took the sting out of going back to work with that to look forward to!
May I suggest Forrest Frank’s A Merry Lofi Christmas as the cocktail party soundtrack? I’ve been playing it on repeat at mealtimes ever since Thanksgiving!
Ooo will be listening to this immediately! Thank you!!
And what a great tradition — easy gentle start to the week!
