We’re all wearing taffeta and silk and satin this season! THE vibe for the holiday 2026. This tassel-fringe taffeta top has been a Magpie topseller all week. Below, sharing a few favorite pieces in these high-shine materials. Before I get into it, wanted to again flag (already mentioned this morning) that J. Crew released their popular Luna pant silhouette in a new polka dot and Shopbops released a pair of under-$200 taffeta pants in tinsel silver and gold that might be a good pick if you’re interested in the vibe but don’t love the bowed leg look.
If you’re wearing any of these taffeta or satin pants for holiday, I think the no-fail outfit formula is: the pants, either a slim-fit cashmere crewneck or chunky knit sweater (go either monochromatic or pair a statement pant color with ivory/navy knit), and a suede or even velvet flat or mule (think this, this, this). The texture play is 10/10.

01. Green plaid blouse, under $160 and so cute whether dressed down with denim for a gingerbread making event or dressed up with velvet trousers for cocktails.
02. Chic satin pant in denim blue. Cannot get over this color. You don’t need to wear red and green to be festive! Pair with an ivory knit. Very alpine chic.
03. Extremely chic silhouette on this tartan taffeta skirt. I ordered this for my holiday lineup.
04. THE taffeta pants. Just iconic! THE viral style for the season. Sold out in a bunch of sizes/colors at Donni, but I got mine in oxblood here and there is more stock here. Get the look for less with these or the aforementioned Lunas.
05. Somehow this pitch-perfect dress is under $250. It has a cape detail, fringe trim, and oxblood taffeta. Its finger is on the pulse!
06. Chesnut taffeta bubble skirt. I like the idea of this with a brown fair isle for Thanksgiving.
07. I can’t stop thinking about this satin coat. Stunning in that Barbie pink! It needs to be paired with something velvet…! Upgrade pick: this Leset.
08. This bag stopped me in my tracks. The color and shape!
