Gifts for Nine-Year-Old Girls.

By: Jen Shoop

One of my best mom “hacks” (hate that word, but it applies in this case) is to pick one gift to give my children’s friends each season. This means I’ll repeat purchase the same item and give it to all the girls turning nine. I can’t tell you how much this simplifies my life. First — you can order multiple at once, second — you’re not scrolling Amazon aimlessly a few days before the party. It saves so much time and thinking! One of the gifts that was really popular for seven year old girls was one of these Yeti water bottles personalized with these initial stickers! They were always a big hit. I’ve gone through seasons of gifting lots of Klutz sets (so many cute options), too. Recently, I’ve been handing out lots of these Hill House x WetBrush brushes with matching clips and little cosmetic bags.

My new gift for the summer batch of birthdays (many of which are pool-oriented): one of these breathable wet bags for swimsuits, a mini wet brush (this is a theme in my gift giving but I personally find we can’t have enough brushes for my girl! we keep one in her backpack, one in her bedroom, one in the pool bag, etc), and a waterproof card game.

Anyway, these and more adorable gifts for nine-year-old girls below. I’ll be releasing a companion one for seven-year-old boys next week!

BACKPACK // SLIPPERS // EARRINGS // COIN POUCH // PJS // HAIR CLIPS // HAIR BRUSH // TRINKET BOX //

01. Hill House hair brush and the matching hair clips.

02. These Roller Rabbit rainbow heart PJs. This brand is super popular with this age group!

03. Adorable coastal-inspired tote — another cute option for a swim birthday party!

04. Love these flower stud earrings. Emory has multiple sets from this brand — they are the absolute sweetest and the backings are screw on (more comfortable for them and less likely to fall off!)

05. The sweetest wicker trinket box.

06. Customizable Roller Rabbit heart backpack.

07. Tomato pajama set — just in time for summer! I got these for my daughter and her best friend!

08. Disco heart fuzzy slippers.

09. Beginner crochet set for a craft lover.

10. Goody x MacKenzie Childs pouch and matching hair brush.

11. Hummingbird lego set.

12. Mini nail polish set.

13. Cute little disco heart coin pouch!

14. This friendship bracelet set for the Harry Potter years. (My daughter is deep into them.)

15. Another great option for a crafty gal. My daughter loves these and the pet motif is really popular with this age group.

16. My daughter lives in her Birkenstocks — great pool shoe and she gets genuinely excited about a new pair at the beginning of summer.

17. Chic kids’ neck pillow for summer road trips. This is the kind of thing my daughter would freak out over — she’d love this for the trip to Norway. Something about travel gear is very exciting to them! She couldn’t wait to have her own suitcase.

A Note on Gift Wrap.

I do occasionally bust out the good gift wrap (Rifle paper, seen above, is my favorite) but honestly, I give about 90% of children’s gifts in these genius little Joy Creative Company “GWrap bags.” You don’t need tape, scissors, ribbon. You just drop the gift inside and seal with one of these birthday stickers, which includes “to/from” and looks adorable on the package! Another time saver. You can use MAGPIE10 for 10% off at Joy Creative. I reorder these a few times a year!

If you’re looking for cute gift enclosures, a few really cute ones I’ve found recently:

THESE RAINBOW SWIRLS

THESE ELEGANT SCRIPTS

THESE PARTY HATS

For thank you notes — Emory’s aged out at this point and I have her write a proper thank you note — but we still use these fill-in-the-blank ones for Hill.

P.S. Cutest kids finds for summer.

P.P.S. Girls room refresh.

P.P.P.S. You’re the expert in your children.

I do the same!! Summer birthdays are either getting blinged-out pool goggles (super smalls do good ones) or binoculars. In winter, super smalls gloves ($40 but RWI). Other things in my closet are pool sinkies, the Kidywolf drawing tablets, and several Spidey and friends T Rexes. Babies get rattles shaped like fruit from Oli & Carol. That covers all the ages currently! We’re usually at parties for kids 0-6.
