Float On.

AH! Mr. Magpie and I just moved into our new house on Friday and it’s been a crazy-busy (exhausting) couple of days. Many glasses of wine have been imbibed, many orders of takeout have been consumed, and many hours of Pandora’s “Robin Thicke” station have been enjoyed. And the house is nowhere close to being unpacked or finished. I am pretty much dying to go for the gold and outfit the majority of our house (we have a lot more space, moving from a 2-BR condo to a 3-BR-plus-basement single-family-home), but ever-rational Mr. Magpie has counseled me to live in the house for a few days/weeks so we understand which areas we really use, where we can really use some juju-ing, etc.

Man, moving sucks! And closing on a house is full of weird ancient processes and scary legalese. There’s a business opportunity if I’ve ever seen one: figure out how to streamline the whole closing-on-a-house deal. It’s so tedious and unnecessarily stressful. But at the end of the day, we are here in our new home and I am ecstatic!
