Twinkle, Twinkle.

My sisters and I had a weird convention of using the word “star” in the names of a lot of our toys growing.  We had dozens of stuffed animals and trolls (yes, remember them?!) and my little ponies named variations of “Star-shine,” “Star-bright,” “Star-burst,” and then the ultra-unimaginative “Star.”  (I believe we even lobbied that our Dad name one of his racing horses “Starsnow” or something of equal ill-intelligence.)  In our universe, “Star” was the patriarchal stallion amongst our family of My Little Ponies.  He (though there were no indications that “he” should have been gendered as such) was a unicorn with a translucent sparkly green coat and, if memory serves, a yellow tail.  I will not humiliate myself by admitting how much time I spent googling the exact model he was — to no avail! — but I do remember him clear as day.  I’m assuming that our “star” naming conventions had a lot to do with Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and all of the other slightly mystical space-bound movies we were into those days.

I couldn’t help but recall this nonsense as I surveyed this absolutely majestic gown, star print blazing proudly ($335).  I’d pair this with fabulous drops (Fallon, $229):
