I am just about to drive back from a three-day creatives trip to the Inn at Perry Cabin hosted by Chappywrap. I’ve never done anything like this before but I can tell you that I returned a) even more in love with the Inn (which I just wrote about a week ago, and which I’ve independently visited several times in the past few years, but can you even believe the golden light here?! I’m currently basking in it while looking out across the Myles River); b) even more in love with Chappywrap (more on that below); and c) full of new shopping intel that I can’t wait to tell you about from the three other creatives on the trip, Mandy Eno, Carly Riordan, and Annie Culbertson.

Inn at Perry Cabin staples: a Suzie Kondi velour sweatshirt and Tosk pants, my Alice Walk cashmere car coat, Ugg Quill moccasins, Bombas socks, and a Chappywrap midi blanket. Oat milk latte and golden sunrise are the real stars.
First, a couple of new launches and sales that are top of my radar:
01. Asha just restocked her borderline-viral quilted jackets in olive green and rust for fall. (Use code ASHA10). Apparently these have been very trendy in the New England coastal towns and islands but sell through very quickly. I am seriously considering that olive green. So good over an ivory La Ligne and a great pair of everyday wash jeans (try code FRESHAYR).
02. Marea released a small holiday capsule and I’m personally obsessed with these patterned statement pants and these velvet pull-on pants. Colby La Ligne vibes but even more casual thanks to the drawstring and wider-leg. I’m LOVING the styling with that rich purple sweater — I just wrote about this color obsession earlier this week. I’d pair with my similar Alex Mill sweater (look for less here).
03. Speaking of Alex Mill: new holiday arrivals! Their new knitwear is NEXT LEVEL good. Consider their eye-catching apres-ready Stowe fair isle, their cashmere hoodie with matching pants (!!! in the chocolate!), and ultra giftable fair isle cardis. Meanwhile, this rainbow stripe cashmere cardigan is giving major Elder Statesmen energy.
04. These collared Criquet sweatshirts for men are 25% off with code FLETCH25. Landon was wearing this in gray when my mom was over the other day and she couldn’t stop complimenting him! It’s very handsome and soft-looking. You know I love a henley/polo neckline. This is a super cool and unexpected style — sort of a hybrid between a rugby shirt and a hoodie. She ended up ordering one for the rest of the men in our family as a Christmas gift! (She has three son-in-laws, one son, and her husband so she likes to give them all the same thing and be done with it!). In years past, she’s given the guys these Rhoback herringbone half-zips (the saddle brown always sells out!), needlepoint belts, and these quilted fleece pullovers (Landon wears this a ton). In this category, I’d also suggest the Rhone Dreamstate q-zips for athletic-leaning dudes!
05. A pincord find I can’t stop thinking about: this shacket/quilted jacket! I saw it styled on someone online with a simple cashmere crewneck, classic fit jeans, and loafers, and she looked like a million bucks. I also love the idea of it layered over a fall floral dress.
06. It’s glitz season. Treat yourself to (or send your husband a link to) a riviere for the holidays! My personal favorite is the James style (round stones versus square) in the 15″ length. I think it looks so modern but feminine and love where it lays against the collarbone. Looks great whether styled with a crewneck cashmere sweater or a strapless velvet dress. Just so chic. Meanwhile, these everyday earrings are…just the best. I almost never take them off! Go with everything, look expensive, feel like nothing on the ear.
Now, onto the things that we were talking about and wearing on this trip:
01. Top recs for really warm outerwear when it really matters — think icy cold conditions at a sporting event — were this Lululemon (specifically called out: the flap that goes across your neck/lower part of your face for peak warmth) and this Aritzia Superpuff but in the “snug” fit versus boxier one. Thought it was interesting that Canada Goose and some of the other premium brands weren’t even mentioned in this conversation!
02. This heated thermal brush for extending a blowout — almost universal raves around the table from women who also own the Dyson Airwrap and still insist this is independently worth it for second-day hair.
03. On the subject of Dyson: while the AirWrap seemed like a non-negotiable must-have across the board, several gals said they don’t like the fancy vacuum from this brand and prefer an upright Bissell or Shark!
04. Several of us were raving about Davines Oi haircare. I’ve used this conditioner for years — I actually layer it over the Virtue one just at the ends of my hair every single shower. It is ultra-hydrating and smells like HEAVEN. The all-in-one-milk is also incredible for detangling and priming.
05. Another beauty find several of us agreed was, regrettably, worth it: Rhode’s glazing milk. I love this stuff including in the new highlighted tint colors. I use the glaze as a bridge between skincare and makeup because it really locks in moisture and creates a kind of seal beneath makeup. Another gal was telling me that the barrier repair cream is also a FANTASTIC product.
06. Funny: two gals arrived wearing THE M. Gemi flat. We were all talking about how comfortable they are immediately, right out of the box; it’s unbelievable. This is THE shoe for a late fall trip with a lot of walking, and they go with everything. Several gals observed that the pink is a color to avoid — it looks too balletic — but that the camel is a staple. And two ladies also arrived wearing this plaid cape! Can you believe that? Uncoordinated! But perfect for our fall walking tour of St. Michael’s. I own that cape in the mink color and just discovered on this trip that it has two huge interior pockets for stowing a phone, a card case, etc! Clever. (Alice just released a new cape style, too. It’s a little longer and has arm holes versus the flaps / open-bottom style on mine.)
07. Mentioned yesterday, but this cashmere cardigan (comes in many colors) was a topic of much adoration as were these “ultra comfortable” AYR jeans.
08. Finally, a love note to Chappywrap, which was THE topic of the trip. I’ve always loved these plush, perfectly-sized-and-weighted, elegant-motif blankets. These may actually have been a Magpie-reader-sourced find in the original days back when they were a lesser known brand. I specifically remember asking Magpies “what things do your husbands routinely steal from you?” and the top two responses were: “my skincare and my Chappywrap blanket.” Fast forward to today: we now have four of these blankets in our family room (one for each of us), one in my studio (I’m always cold), and a midi size in my car for the kids, which they routinely fight over. My daughter specifically loves it post-soccer on the weekends. I’m always hounding her to bring an extra layer and she often snaps back: “I have the car blanket!” My son often refuses to wear a sweatshirt or jacket while watching aforementioned games and we’ve brought the blanket out to the sidelines countless times.
I also love to give these as gifts — most recently to thank a family for hosting us at their home for a weekend. The presentation is incredible if you have them gift-boxed and shipped. It arrives as a big, dramatic, cozy “thank you” or “we love your family” or “sending you a big hug while you navigate this” type gift. And it’s a perfect “polite” gift pick for a mother in law or a woman who has everything already; not too intimate and not too generic.
I doubled down on my love affair with this brand while at the Inn because the team is truly invested in and obsessed with their own product. All of the team members were talking about their specific favorite sizes and ways of using the blanket (many of them can’t sleep without their Chappywraps! I’d never even thought of it as a bed blanket!) The company was run for years by a mother-daughter team (!), but, sadly, the mother passed away last year and now the daughter runs the business with her husband. Chappywrap now honors the mother’s legacy through work with the American Cancer Society and also — touchingly — by donating hundreds of comfort blankets to cancer treatment centers.
Anyway, couldn’t be more impressed with this thoughtful and passionate team and will continue to give these as gifts from now until forever. If you’re looking for my top recs:
+This for a mother / mother-in-law / sister / woman who has everything.
+This in the original size in blue or brown as a family gift / thank you gift / “thanks for letting us stay at your house” gift. The color and style goes with almost any home decor vibe and feels truly safe/classic. If the family is a little more
+This in the midi size in the cream or pink for a friend enduring a tough time — a recovery, a diagnosis, a loss.
+This or this as a baby gift / toddler gift.
+This for your car as a kids sports blanket.
+This in shell for a workplace/office best friend. It’s great lap-to-shoulder size if you run cold in your office.
