Every time I prepare for a trip, I think about the Magpie who said she keeps a running note about specific outfit ideas for upcoming events, trips, etc., so that any time she sees something she likes, or a particular dress suggests itself as a possibility for an imminent occasion in her closet, she can write it down in one place and simplify her life later.
I love her organized, anticipating energy; I am this way in many other areas of my life. But for some reason, I am decidedly type B when I pack. I wait until the last possible moment and then pack by mood, always stuffing in a few extra looks just in case.
(Are there other areas in which you play against your own type, I wonder? I consider myself more Type A but I am also Type B with stain treatment and garment wrinkles. More often than not, I just shrug and wear the wrinkly dress, or the t-shirt with the slight stain on it. I can’t explain this about myself. My mother would be appalled. She is meticulous! And part of my livelihood is fashion and spotlighting my own style! Maybe it’s a minor form of rebellion? Or just…will someone really notice?! Slash I just can’t be bothered…)
