Are we all coming down from the high of the entire internet being on sale during Black Friday / Cyber Monday?
A few great sales to contemplate today…
BLOUSE // CARDIGAN ABOVE // BOOTS // PACKABLE HAT // CHOCOLATE GOWN
Shopbop is offering an extra 25% off sale items through today (12/11). My top recs:
ONE OF MY FAV BLOUSES FROM THIS FALL (SEEN ABOVE, WITH THIS CARDIGAN) – COLORS ARE SO FUN
MAKE A SPLASH AT YOUR NEXT BLACK TIE WEDDING
WHAT I’M WEARING TO A FESTIVE HOLIDAY AFFAIR – NOW 30% OFF PLUS EXTRA 25% OFF
MY MOST WORN BOOTS THIS WINTER (I HAVE IN A DIFF COLOR BUT THESE ARE FAB)
CHIC PACKABLE HAT FOR WINTER GETAWAY (I LOVE THIS BRAND – OWN TWO OF THEIR HATS!)
DRAMATIC HOLIDAY TOP TO WEAR THIS WEEKEND
LIQUID CHOCOLATE GOWN – SO ELEGANT; I OWN THIS IN GOLD LAME AND I SWEAR IT MAKES ME LIKE SEVERAL INCHES TALLER
STRIPED BLAZER // KICK FLARES // STRIPED DRESS
Speaking of Veronica Beard, VB is also offering an extra 20% off sale with code FESTIVE20. Don’t miss my striped blazer — now somehow $255 (orig $798). Chanel vibes. Looks fab with black jeans. Meanwhile, these popular kick flares are somehow under $100 and fully stocked. Run TTS – have a good amount of stretch. And this dress was one of my favorite dresses I wore all summer long — now somehow around $200 flat. It is SO chic. Perfect for a country club fete.
MAKEUP BY MARIO PALETTE // GUCCI BRONZER // EYEBROW GEL // CONCEALER
Sephora is offering 20% off one order only with code HAVEITALL. You must be signed into your account for the code to work, and you can only use it once. Eek! This is better than the tiered sale they offer periodically throughout the year, as I’m not a VIB Rouge! Currently in my cart: this Makeup by Mario palette (which I mentioned in my Monday post on eye makeup, and this pick was corroborated by this post from Hilary Kerr — thanks to a Magpie reader for sharing that post, which I found very informative!) and this Gucci bronzer, which so many people have recommended over the years and I was just reminded of while deep in a Reddit beauty subthread.
I have a full list of my Sephora favorites saved here!
Last but not least, “it” belt brand Dehanche is still offering 30% off orders over $300. Their Hollyhock belt is MAJORLY trendy and I’d love to get my paws on one. This one is beyond gorgeous. (By the way, two similar styles for less: this B-Low the Belt and this Madewell.)
Onward!
P.S. My most recent batch of Magpie icebreakers — I LOVE to read your responses to these.
P.P.S. Let your heart be light.
P.P.P.S. It’s just that — we have so little time with our loved ones.
Hi Jen! For me the comments on your Favorite Things post max out at 50, so I figured I’d comment over here. My MIL is getting my husband the Omnilux Men’s mask for Christmas and I’m planning on stealing it. Goals to Get Glowing was pretty convincing in her case for red light, but the reason we decided to do it is because I’ve been getting professional red light therapy on my abdomen postpartum and it’s made SUCH a difference. If Mr Magpie is getting into skincare, I really suggest a Microdermabrasion appointment! It’s a really low lift since it’s just one appointment for fairly dramatic results, and for men in particular it reduces the depth of forehead lines, and I think men are a little more comfortable with microderm since they’re used to shaving. My husband’s got very glowy skin if he remembers to use product, and his routine is pretty much microderm once a year, caudalie vinoperfect serum and a big pump bottle of CosRx squalane, and whatever I happen to share with him if he’s getting ready at the same time.
Those cranberry French 75s look amazing! My husband’s thanksgiving cocktail was a gin variant on a cosmopolitan we called “The Metropole.” I naturally favor something with brown liquor but I’m the odd one out in the family. This looks good: https://punchdrink.com/recipes/winter-waltz/
Or we make the Philadelphia Fish House Punch as our house signature punch, it’s not particularly festive but it is silly delicious and far too drinkable.
I managed to snag some of the Diptyque “lanterne” spinning toppers this year, it’s a Christmas tree that rotates, and I’m pairing them with my favorite Fragonard Christmas candle since they also fit. The scent sold out but the diffuser is here: https://www.fragonard.com/fr-int/sarah-raphael-balme/cette-nuit-la-p-3146.htm
Any tall Magpies have that Veronica Beard gown? I love the chocolate color but I’m 5’8” and unsure on fit.
Love the ChefSteps rec! That was new to me.
New pens are such a tangible pleasure. I just got new red Dymo embossing label tape and I’m joyfully labeling everyone’s presents. In past years I use a paint pen to write folks’ names in big messy cursive directly on the present. Gifts are a little less aesthetic this year since my son picked out Paw Patrol paper that’s so thin and finicky and tears easily, but at the end of the day I want him delighted with his gifts.
Hi!! These are such fantastic notes, per usual. I have been to Philadephia Fish House and LOVE this idea. Going to look into recreating for a holiday party chez nous — fun! Punches are so great for serving a crowd.
Love the Diptyque lanterns!!
Re: VB gown – it was really, really long on me. I had I want to say 6″ cut off. I’m 5’0. FYI!
