Chatting about the things we’ve bought for life, and reflecting on aging and some of the encouraging notes our “big sis” Magpies have shared (I love those of you who wrote: “just wait, it gets even better in your 50s”), I’ve been thinking about things that improve with time. I’ve been wondering about the parts of parenting that fit this description. I find some aspects of my motherhood have become easier, more instinctual, and even more pleasant (? is it bad to say that?) as I’ve gotten older, but others remain just as sticky and heart-stabbing as they were at the dawn of my matrescence. What has your experience been?
