+MADELINE MILLER ENCORE!: I somehow just heard about Mestra, Madeline Miller’s latest, a short fictional account of Mestra, daughter of the King of Thessaly, whom Poseidon has granted the ability to shapeshift! I ordered immediately. Circe is one of my top ten favorite books of all time. (Read more about the book here!)
+NEW OBSESSIONS + GOOD SHOPPING TIDINGS:
+OK, these leggings are insanely good. I can tell will be a new go-to along with my tried-and-true Vuoris. They are, like everything Rhoback makes, absolutely perfect. The fit, the handfeel, the way they don’t compress too much but still make you feel held in. These are leggings you can wear all day long without wanting to change.
+I got them in the cocoa color (and now want all the colors…) and wore them with Richer Poorer’s rugby pullover (seen above) which — I have to say, Magpies, and I hope this isn’t sacrilegious — I might slightly prefer to the AYR EMT? Based solely on the length. I like that this fits a little looser/wider and shorter. I find it hits at a better spot when paired with leggings. Of course I’ll always love the AYR too but RP’s answer to it is compelling, and about 1/2 the price.

+Big sale at J. McLaughlin this weekend! Do not miss this perfect full midi skirt. I’d get it in the olive green or dark chocolate. So chic with a chambray button-down and a marigold sweater over the shoulders and a little suede flat. Or a cardigan or crewneck in a bold color (red, chartreuse, purple)! Currently under $100. OMG, I think I just convinced myself to get both colors.

This may be the missing element from our fall-to-winter carpool uniform! I LOVE this zip liner jacket (would be so cute with the above athleisure color story) and especially this “wildflower” fleece, which was inspired by vintage hiking gear and snowy winters at the ski lodge.

+Minnow’s striped cardigans are among my favorites — great, high-quality, tight-weave cotton with cuffs that hug the wrist in a flattering way. They just released a great one in a cocoa stripe. Layer with EVERYTHING.
+Finally: while on this cocoa theme, just got this package of bone broth cocoa in the mail! It keeps going in and out of stock. I’m eager to try and will report back (but currently out of town). Some of you have described it as “the perfect low-guilt sweet treat” for the afternoon or after dinner, and others say it’s a tad too sweet. Will share thoughts!

+A PUMPKIN BREAD YOU CAN PROBABLY MAKE TODAY: I was able to make this pumpkin bread last Sunday — I had all the ingredients on hand! I’ve been loving baking a simple cake or muffin on Sunday to snack on with coffee, to send in for snack/dessert in my kids’ lunches, etc. The kids loved the glaze, and the cake had a nice moist texture to it.
