Mother’s Day is coming up in less than three weeks! A collection of items that I personally love (and/or am lusting after) — my usual litmuses for giving a gift to someone I adore. I want them to open something and have me speak in exclamation points about it! Above, for example, you can see me using my new flower carrier. This is on the surface such a whimsical gift but it actually works really well (highly practical / well designed) and I like the suggestiveness of it as a part of a weekly flower-buying ritual. (You could also bundle with a flower subscription — my Mom would adore this. This Mid-Atlantic small business, The Flower Post, offers a three-month series you could send her way!)
These and other fab gifts below —

BAG // LAKE PAJAMAS // SCENTED POMEGRANATE // JANE WIN PENDANT // PAPER PLANT // ROSE PRINTED SCARF // DIOR CARD HOLDER // NOTEBOOK // MOTHERHOOD PRINT // HAIR CLIP
01. Love pendant coin by Jane Win — I wear mine all the time. Lots of motifs available! You pick the one that speaks most to your mother!
02. Scarves remind me of my mom; she wears them constantly. I’d love to add this fabulous rose blur silk cashmere scarf to her collection — or maybe an on-trend bandana sweater wrap or this lovely pink bandana scarf!
03. Ultra plush waffle knit pullover. Divine. I live in mine. And the colors are so sweet!
04. Notes to self on motherhood print :). You can also find this in my book! I’ve heard that some of you are giving your mothers this book for the occasion and am so touched.
05. These paisley printed toiletry bags. My absolute favorite — they’re lined on the inside, have pockets for specific items, and you can toss them in the laundry and let air-dry inside out when they get a little dingy. Another great option: these Weezie ones! They’re enormous and fit everything. Love the wipeable exterior.
06. This Alice Walk sweater will be something she reaches for constantly!
07. Brightening lemon toner. I’ve written so much about this but it’s a splurge I’m absolutely addicted to. (This is what I’m getting my mom this year. Hope she doesn’t read this.)
08. This terracotta pomegranate! I brought one home from Italy last year and keep it in my closet, perfuming my clothes. It gives me the best vacation feeling because of its association with Italy but it smells gorgeous regardless of that personal history, and I love the fun and unexpected design aspect.
09. This digital frame to store photos of heartfelt memories. We’ve given these to both my parents and my in-laws and both of them talk about it all the time. I completely understand; we have it in our kitchen and I’m obsessed with it. At least once a day, I’ll stop and get lost in a happy memory, or I’ll be glazing over while prepping the lunchboxes, remembering when they were tiny. This is really a wonderful addition. I was super hesitant because I didn’t think I’d like a screen in my kitchen but this is worth it. And the kids love it too! They’re always looking at how little and cute they were!
10. This notecard set for the tennis player or these for the dog-lover. I love this small business.
11. Nile blue notebook to write down all your musings. Great for a list-maker / note-taker / gal who keeps her itinerary on paper, and it says WONDER WOMAN on the front!
12. Flower carrier perfect for a farmers market or a weekly fresh bouquet habit. I adore mine. It’s super clever, with interior pockets to tuck the stems and a self tie to keep everything in place. The interior is a waxed material that stands up to moisture / dripping stems. Chic!
13. Louis Sherry box of chocolates — this box can be kept as a catch-all for small items.
14. This stunning card holder with a lily of the valley accent. Luxe!
15. My book! Have to include it here because there are several pieces that touch on motherhood and the gift of being a daughter.
16. Luxe kimono pajama set. My absolute favorite. I live in these sets!
17. Bell-sleeve plush robe in cherry blossom. The pattern is so gorgeous!
18. This carnation paper plant. Unusual, whimsical, unexpected. A treasure.
19. Matcha set. I treated myself to this 🙂
20. Membership to Audubon for my fellow birders!
21. The hair clip everyone needs. This is close to BIFL territory. Beautifully made and well-crafted / sturdy.
22. Customizable tote bag — wonderful everyday bag option. I own this and LOVE it. Would be cute personalized with “Mom.”

Love all these ideas, Jen! I particularly wanted to share that I have the Notes to Self on Motherhood print and have it framed on the wall I first look at when I wake up, as a way to get grounded at the start of the day.
Also wanted to drop a suggestion here for the Magpie community — Small Wonders as a Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8) gift!
I love this, Mia :). Thank you!!
