Sunday Special: Early MDW Sales.

By: Jen Shoop

Sharing a special edition post with a handful of my favorite early MDW sale finds, all in one place. I’ve been sprinkling these throughout my posts the past few days but thought I’d lasso them together here:

Early memorial day sale picks

SUZIE KONDI TOSK PANTS // OSO AND ME BINGO SHORTS // GWYN DRESS // EBY BRA // RDV TOTE // WESTMAN BRONZING DROPS (20% OFF IN CART) // J. CREW DRESS // CRATE AND KIDS CHANDELIER

All details and more below…

+Suzie Kondi Archive Sale! This means the velour set (pants, sweatshirt) I’ve been raving about is on rare sale in a great green and a few other colors. Also available in a wide leg silhouette if you’re uncertain about the harem.

+20% off prestige beauty, including Victoria Beckham (<< this is a top Magpie reader “regrettably worth it” rec) and Westman (<<I blend a few drops in with my foundation for the best, most believable bronze). Discount appears in cart.

+Extra 25% off Julia Amory sale (discount appears in cart), including this gorgeous, easy-to-wear, sunshine-in-a-bottle caftan.

+Big summer sale at Oso + Me! I love their Bingo shorts for boys, especially in the toddler years, and I always get Hill a couple of their Edward tees each season. Super soft and look adorable / more finished than a typical t-shirt.

+Goop is running a sale, and I believe my code — SHOOP15 — works as an additional discount on any Gwyn / Goop Beauty products included. I think the WORLD of their knitwear — how gorgeous is this, on sale plus extra 15% off? Also adore this classic and crisp white shirtdress. Not Gwyn, but some other randomly good deals: a Rue de Verneuil in a chic brown on sale, and Uni’s in-shower oil (another favorite of mine) is under $20.

+Serena and Lily is offering up to 40% off — the best time to snag the bed you’ve been looking for (we bought this one during Black Friday / Cyber Monday for the same discount), kitchen table chairs, a rug for the dining room, outdoor furniture! In a semi-unexpected turn of events, we just swapped out our living room rug for this one (25% off). We had a gorgeous one in there we got from Jayson Home in Chicago years ago but it was truly just a tad too small for the space. Our designer helped us “make it work” but it always felt a bit undersized for the room. This one is very similar — colors are perfect for the room — but we got it in a much bigger size that will better suit. I can’t wait!!! While we were making this decision, we learned that typically, there should be about 8-12″ of hard wood around the perimeter of an area rug (depends on a few factors — scale of room, etc), and that the front legs of all seating should rest on it (slash ideally all four legs should rest on it, but this may not be doable, i.e., in our living room, there is a bay window inset situation where we have our settee. Finally, when in question, you should size up vs size down because a too-small rug always looks like an accident but a slightly large rug can be made to look intentional. Random but just thought I’d pass along!

+40% off at J. Crew! I love this easy striped mini and their Luna pants (currently like $60!)!

+Crate + Kids is running an early sale — if you’ve been eyeing any of those classic Jenny Lind pieces for a nursery or child’s room, now is the time. These rarely go on sale. I love the spindle bed, bookshelf, and side table. Meanwhile, this light fixture would transform a room — what a fab statement!

+Insanely comfortable t-shirt bra, 30% off. You will LOVE IT.

+50% off Hanna Andersson jams!

+We ordered a new mattress for our guest bedroom — it was long overdue — from Helix, which is offering 25% off with code MEMDAY25. It’s their biggest sale of the year, and I’d read really good things about this brand on Reddit. One thing I liked about the shopping experience was that you take a quiz to figure out the best fit for your needs, and you can even customize for two sleepers! Since this mattress is for guests, we ended up researching things like “what is the most common sleeping position?” (turns out, most of us are side sleepers!), but opted for “MAKE THIS MATTRESS RUN AS COOL AS POSSIBLE” because you can always add blankets but it’s the worst feeling to be hot while trying to sleep, and this bed is on the top floor of our home. I was really drawn in by this feature on the mattress we ended up with: “GlacioTex Elite Cooling Cover + CoolForce Layer — An innovative, deep-cooling layer that moves heat away from you.” Landon and I are jealous — lol! We’re actually planning to sleep up there when it arrives just so we can see what it’s like. A little vacation at home.
