My Latest Score

Some of you may have seen this in the comments on a recent blogpost, but the Ulla Johnson dress I had been planning to wear to minimagpie’s baptism arrived and I was absolutely swimming in it.  Boo hiss.  So I decided to go ahead with this H+M bow-shouldered dress ($99), especially after seeing it on the adorable Julia of Gal Meets Glam (shown below).  Anxiously awaiting its arrival.  If it doesn’t fit (this uber-popular top version of the dress reportedly runs super large), I’ll just have to wear something I already own……………

The Fashion Magpie HM White Eyelet Dress

You’re Sooooo Popular

The most popular items on Le Blog this week:

+My favorite underwear, on sale.  Literally own a pair in every color of the rainbow.

+The best lip balm, also on sale in a special 2-for-1 package.

+My newest shades ($69) — sorry if you’re tired hearing about these, but I just can’t get over how much more expensive they look than their price tag would suggest!  They look like designer shades.

+The next chick lit book I’m reading.

+My favorite new book for minimagpie.

+My favorite striped tee.  (Lots of favorites featured this past week!)

+The cutest, most versatile flat for fall!

Just two blocks north of our home, on the wall of a building just behind a busy bus stop, someone painted: We all live here.  And just two blocks south of our home, in the window of a storefront, the proprieter has etched: Live the life you want.  I pass these two statements — one declarative, the other imperative (or maybe both, in their own ways, imperative?) — on a daily basis, on our nearly-three-mile-long morning walks with the entire family in tow.  Both give me pause, and are together beautiful in their symmetry, the one gently nudging me toward an empathetic, neighborly headspace, and the other, more assertively, more urgently, pushing me to pursue whatever it is I want to pursue.  These could well be the cardinal directions on the moral compass I’ve come to live by: get what’s yours, but do it mindfully and with care for those around you.  Push yourself, but never at the expense of others.  Stick to your guns, but co-exist with those around you.

God has put these in my way.  My own urban poetry.

+This frothy blouse looks SUPER high end, but is only $38!

+Very Jennifer Gray in Dirty Dancing ($20).

+Love this silky scarf ($49).

+This silky tie-shoulder top is a must ($78).

+CUTE CUTE CUTE ($89).  Would work well for a pregnant mamacita, too!

+Remember when I terrorized Fred?  I was wearing this dress, now sold out.  But the brand came out with a few new, similar styles, like this navy linen stunner and this pretty floral print one.

+Have a few hours to kill?  Check out the new additions in the Moda Operandi final sale section.  I am dying over this Johanna Ortiz dress, marked down from over $1500 to $551.  Can I justify it?!  I’ve long lusted after this label…also, this chic Missoni one-piece!

P.S. More amazing sale finds.

P.P.S.  I’m always updating Le Shop if you’re looking for more goodness.
