I have gotten so many requests from expecting moms looking for chic maternity wear. It feels like a different lifetime that I was waiting for my son to arrive — and yet, pictures like the one above draw me right back to those tender-hearted, impatient moments of waiting. During my pregnancies, I tried wherever possible to buy non-maternity so I could re-wear post-baby, and I also tended to invest heavily in statement footwear and accessories to “dress up” and have fun with the staples in my closet (I had one black dress similar to this I probably wore 200 times but would diversify the look with accessories). Like, why NOT go for those wild, trendy Chanel sandals and just wear them all summer long to give your look a bit of edge? I must also say I splurged on maternity pajamas (these were my favorites and I had several pairs I since gave to my sister — they also work great postpartum/nursing) and maternity underwear — they made those uncomfortable months just a tad more comfortable! YESSS thank you for this roundup. Eagerly clicking on each link – love the idea of going a little *extra* on sunglasses & footwear. My little 17 week bump (!!) is finally making itself known, so I’m taking any excuse to buy a few fun casual & work dresses for this next period. I’ve had some great luck with a few easy H&M finds so far, but definitely letting myself get a few fun splurge-y pieces as well… justifying them by hoping they’ll work postpartum too!
