Le Padded Tee Trend of 2020.

By: Jen Shoop

*Image above of and by the gorgeous Mathilde Goehler. Note that she is carrying the crazy stylish Bottega Veneta pouch bag — get the look for less with Mansur Gavriel’s variation or this $35 Amazon score.

I was surprised at how many of you were into the bike short trend I mentioned a few days ago! Thought I might also see whether any of you are eyeing the padded tee trend of 2020, too? It all started with this top from Frankie Shop (seen above — also available in white here). You can get the look for less with this or this, or go for a slightly softer/less edgy look with this Veronica Beard. What do you think?

P.S. Things I often need to remind myself:

+Pressure is a choice;

+“You may not see it today or tomorrow, but you will look back in a few years and be absolutely perplexed and awed by how every little thing added up and brought you somewhere wonderful“; and

+To be thankful “for food in a world where many walk in hunger; for faith in a world where many walk in fear; and for friends in a world where many walk alone.”

  1. I bought the tee a few weeks ago and I looked ridiculous! Had to return. Loved the idea. Didn’t love the reality! haha

    1. Ahhh that’s totally happened to me, too. Usually when I go for things better suited towards taller women. Well, at least you tried! xx

  2. This look reminds me of several of my aunts, who, in the 1980s, put shoulder pads in EVERYTHING. Including the T-shirts we had printed for our family reunion. I am naturally broad of shoulder so I will forever not be partaking in shoulder pad trends! I feel the same about an email I got from jcrew recently, teaching me how to peg/tight-roll my pants. I agree with an earlier commenter that if you were around for the trend the first time, think long and hard before diving in the next time around 😉

  3. Love the prayer/intention for thankfulness…think it will become something say to myself multiple times per day…am also, with your permission, going to post on my Instagram…think many people I know will love it too. Thanks as always for starting my day off with the smile that comes as I read your daily post.

    1. Hi Nancy — Of course!! Please share! So many people have adopted it and I’m so glad for that. Thank you for being here!! xx

  4. My daughter talked me into getting the dumpling bag from amazon in white. It’s pretty darn cute, she oughta know she is a stylist. As far as the shoulder pad tee, I got the Zara version and it is just fine. I’m waiting for the Zara pearl espadrille slides to come back in stock. I just found your site and it is tre good!

    1. Thank you for the intel on the bag!! I ordered it earlier this year and then the shipment got delayed and then lost in transit. Just recently thought of it again and your nudge has pushed me over the edge!

      Love those espadrilles! So glad you are here, Carleen!! Welcome!

      xx
