P.P.S. Such a good sale raging at Saks right now — I’m mainly eyeing the uncommonly good discounts on a few things for home, including a super-stunning place setting for spring (or go with classic white), my favorite bath/shower gel, and my secret weapon for maintaining my cashmere without a million trips to the dry cleaner. But this skirt and this dress also caught my eye…
P.P.P.S. How are you doing? Some mood lifters here and organization ideas here, if you’re looking to distract yourself with a project.
Thanks to you, my “IT” dress this year is the Staud blue toile dress with the organza sleeves, that you had posted about a while back… I waited for it to go on sale and found it at Saks for something like $125! I absolutely love it — I have totally been influenced! 😉 I was pleasantly surprised that it’s actually quite easy to wear?! I’ve tried other pieces with organza-like material and they always made me itchy. But the Staud is a delight. I have nowhere to go — our area has only re-opened certain types of businesses — but I’m all for wearing something special “just because”. This is probably one of my favorite purchases from your blog. Thank you, again — you find the best stuff!
Oh YAY! I love love love that dress, too! xx
Love these picks, especially the Horror Vacui and your striped Staud maxi from Saks! My birthday is coming up (in 2 months, haha) and I have started to scout options, keeping in mind that I’m trying to be extra conservative about shopping right now (namely, not spending frivolously, or even much at all!) I did pick up this floral midi/maxi from Shopbop — https://www.shopbop.com/heartlands-maxi-dress-free-people/vp/v=1/1574790245.htm?colorId=30267 — and am eagerly waiting to try it on. Could be a contender!
xx
So cute!! Love it. With you on all things Horror Vacui!!! I’m obsessed.
Hi Jen! I was the reader who asked the question about changes to your daily routine due to COVID-19. I’m finally getting around to comment now, and wanted to let you know that I was so happy to see my question answered (and in such detail)! It’s an uncertain time in the world, and I want to thank you for continuing to post regularly. You are appreciated! Also, I have some plugra butter in my prime now cart (who knows if it will be out of stock when I’m actually able to place an order…), but I am very excited to try it and love your food posts! I cook regularly and had learned to tolerate it over the years with the help of TV shows and podcasts in the background, but your food posts inspired me find the joy in the process and techniques… who knew that would ever be possible as a former NYC (now Seattle) resident who spent 9 years ordering delivery almost every night? I’ve even started cooking new recipes from cookbooks (never gravitating towards recipes that are too quick per Mr. Magpie’s advice) and now make sure my pasta is bronze-cut haha. Anyway, I hope you and your family are staying safe and doing okay! I don’t get around to commenting often, but reading your posts is one of the highlights of my daily routine.
Hi! You are so sweet — thank you so much. It’s truly my absolute pleasure and privilege to write this blog; I’m so honored that others have found joy in reading it. YAY for all of the little cooking tips you’ve picked up along the way — woohoo!!! You will have to let me know if you see a difference using Plugra (first tip: just taste a little bit of it on good bread — you’ll never go back!!!).
