  1. These posts are so helpful thank you! I’m curious what shoes you recommend to get children (both boys and girls) through the fall and winter? I’m thinking sneakers + winter boots + dressier pair +++ ahh the list could go on and on! TIA

    1. Hi Danielle! So glad these are helpful! For Emory, the past few years, I have purchased “dressy sneakers” (like Cientas/Supergas/Keds — something canvas that looks nicer than actual sneakers), actual sneakers (usually Veja), a pair of dressy shoes (I like Elephantito, La Coqueta, and sometimes H&M has really good ones, too), a pair of winter boots (last year, we did Uggs but in years prior, she had styles from Gap and when very young, Donsje; I want to note that I find Gap shoes to be pretty poorly made — one season or less and they are done, IMO, but then again you can often score them for under $20 using promo codes so…?), rain boots, and snow boots. Sometimes I also spring for a special occasion pair of shoes, like velvet/patent leather, for the holidays, but last year I didn’t because we didn’t even go out anywhere, and she was usually barefoot or in socks at home!)

For Hill last year — dressy boots (I got him the Ugg Rennons in brown: https://bit.ly/3snScuA), dressy sneakers (Supergas), sneakers (he had New Balances), boat shoes (Sperry), snow boots, rain boots, and dressy shoes (last year, I did saddle shoes but this year I will do suede loafers).

      Hope this helps!

      xx
