Mr. Magpie plan to travel to Italy this fall and I’m already daydreaming about it. I realized the other day I have been liking, pinning, and generally ogling at simple, polished pieces in neutrals and black and white for that dreamed-about excursion. Below, sharing some wardrobe inspiration for those of you on the eve of a trip abroad this summer. The first mood board is splurgey designer fabulousness, and the second mood board includes reasonably priced takes on similar trends — nearly everything under $100! — and both include fabulous pieces I’m eyeing for myself.

Bigger Budget: European Vacation Wardrobe.

Smaller Budget: European Vacation Wardrobe.

P.S. European pharmacy favorites.

P.P.S. Everything is a flowing.

P.P.P.S. The sun still rises.

  1. LOVE this post, esp. as I’m also traveling to Italy (and France!) this fall. Clicked on so many things.

Per the comment below, I’d love an updated roundup of chic jewelry to layer with understated outfits. Perhaps less on the trendy (colored beads, shells) vibe and and more classic gold/pearl/etc. pieces. I often layer daintier gold pieces but would love to mix in some chunkier variations in necklaces, bangles, etc.

    1. Love this prompt – I have a post going live next week titled “Classic Jewelry for Less” with lots of great everyday options that aren’t, like, Cartier prices, but are high quality enough to stand the test of time. Finishing it up now – will share soon!

      xx

  2. Also going to Italy (Tuscany) in October for a girls’ trip! Would love if you could do another post closer to of fall trip inspo 🙂

  3. I feel like Staud can do no wrong lately!! I will say here in monaco I see a lot of women in white button downs with buns, wide leg jeans, and lots of layered jewelry, or working women in almost 90s loose pantsuits over tees and sneakers. The designer item I see most often are sunglasses (lots of Dior and Prada). I just bought this fabulous Max Mara skirt: https://fr.maxmara.com/p-1301014206007-ora-ivoire?
