A girlfriend of mine asked for fall boot options under $500, and I thought I’d share my findings here. My top pick is this pair from Doen. The silhouette/shaft height are similar to but a little less trend-y/Western-inspired than my Isabel Marant Duertos, meaning they’re probably a better investment than my Marants, because they’ll transcend trends. I also love the colors — especially the black suede. Perfect heel height and I want to wear them with lots of moody fall florals! Also super digging these pull-on boots from J. Crew’s New Arrivals (just cropped up this morning!) in the unusual “luxe forest” color — sort of an olive-y green-brown. I love when brands put out colors that aren’t too on the nose, but that go with a fall palette easily — these are just different enough to be interesting but won’t be difficult to match. Also, under $250!
